I would suggest you wait for more results from the latest FW to come in before placing an order, given the distance it has to go. With luck it will be made available soon so more of us can test it.

Hi,
This is Sudhir from Bangalore, India. Just placed an order for a UPA 5 and an UMC 1 (probably on hindsight should have waited for the bugs to be resolved). Hope it works out alright.
On a side note, does Emotiva honor the quote for an offline order in a sale, where the payment was made but then the stocks got over.
The UPA5 was an awesome deal, would hate to have missed it.

7.2 is much easier to live with. If you paid already (i.e. order must have been accepted), I would think the price stands.

Hi to all!
First post here nevertheless I was following Emotiva's progress for over a year now. Your dedication, emphasis on quality & functionality and your overall approach to our beloved hobby is exceptional. Well done! ;-)
I got a quote from Sarah for a shipment of UMC-1 to Athens/Greece where I live. The cost is acceptable ($103) and I will soon be proceeding with my order.
May I ask for those of you outside US that have placed orders before what payment methods you followed and if you bumped into any issues or additional bank expenses (in the latter case I presume if payment option was a bank transfer). Any additional customs duties expenses also? (I presume there's no global rule here but depending on region).
Thank you all in advance.

You can also transfer money via bank wire. Paypal will give you a less favorable exchange rate, the bank will charge some fees extra. Either way it'll cost you.

Well, that's fine by me if that cost is acceptable. May I have some typical cost examples for bank wire transfers. I see you are from Germany. What was that cost for you?

had the usp-1 for about a week or there abouts, just looking at a money overhaul to get a pair of upa-1's and rack mounts for the usp-1 and upa-1's...
now to workon getting the cash to pay for it all..
then another 1800 down the crapper on the xmc-1

Would it be worth getting a UMC-1 and selling it without the upgrade card?
If the XMC-1 is good it presumably won't be money down the crapper?

I think once the xmc is out I will know if I want either a 2nd xmc or perhaps an xsp just for 2 channel. I still have a need for 2 x 5.1 setups but run all the gear in one room bar the speakers and monitors for one of the setups.
Right now I have 2 umc's and a usp

Anyone heard anything more about the European distributorship that has been mentioned a lot in the past couple years? I have a friend really wanting to try out the XPA-1's, but he's in Germany and does not want to buy them and face potential return to the US if he does not like them.

Mark I thought Dan already travelled to Europe to get this up and running. Dave.
