Chuckie, I think the issue that people are wrestling with is that you didn't get the proper license for initiating a new thread. Perhaps you missed the annoucement about that...it was buried in a bunch a chaf in another thread. But yeah, you now have to get a licence...I hear you have to go to the place the chap in this video went in order to get one: In the future, I for one would most certainly look forward to your following of these rules but more importantly...of the video of you trying to obtain said thread license. ;D ;D ;D Mark, Mark, Mark (always enjoying your posts...!!!!)

How is the post helpful...doesn't it just irritate the people who don't like this thread? It seems as though you are just instigating. Personally I think your post is inflammatory and should be deleted by the mods. Chuckies post on the other hand should be left alone. Chucks post was a bit much for me....but he should be allowed to post it....just as the people who have complaints should be able to post without having to catch crap. It is never the complaint or praise that irritate me...it's the arguing it creates.

I thought for just once we could put the criticism aside and give him some extremely well deserved credit. Sorry that I the negative types couldn't keep their mouths shut just this once. If I had known my post would bring the rude and negative sharpshooters out of the woodwork I never would have started it. If I could I would delete it but I can only delete my individual posts (someone please correct me if you know how I can simply delete the entire thread). I don't have a problem with someone posting praise but when you expect "the negative types" to keep their mouths shut thats just a little too much IMO. What you are saying is that it is OK for you to voice your opinion but if someone has a different opinion then they should not voice it. You mention that you would delete this thread if you could but here you are on page four still posting. I asked earlier in this thread on page one what were the negative and rude remarks you mention. You did not respond but here you are still going on about rude remarks and how you are being attacked. Maybe if you just let it go then maybe this thread would make its way off the front page and people would forget about. You mention going the PM route maybe you should follow your own advice and do just that . Bill

This is just a praise post by you about Dan's comments and company Well, I don't hang out at multiple forums. However, I have posted on a fairly continual basis at one forum or the other over the past five years or so. I might be blind but I have never even heard the term "praise post." Is that a common term in forums that I'm just not aware of? Why does it seem to irritate you so that a member here would start such a thread. Yes, I know there are numerous comments about the good job that Emo has done here and there in this forum. I just thought the particular things Dan did the last couple of days or so were very unusual in any business in my experience. Why does it irritate you so that I started this thread? I don't have the right here to pass on my compliments to the CEO of Emotiva? I just looked over the forum section titles. Would it satisfy you in the future if I ever wanted to start another thread that I post it in the Green Room section? Is praising another member within a thread which I see all the time, is that allowed? Can you please PM me with any other behavior rules you have that I should follow in my contributions at this or other forums. Thanks BTW, if you saw immediately that this was a praise thread how did you get this far (page 4) to voice your displeasure? ".........while they like the praise..they really don't like all the needless bickering..So let's keep it civil and keep it friendly without having to have them take time away from getting our goodies to us just to keep the peace here......' Excuse me, but if you read thru the thread you will find that I only responded to a number of attacks and rude remarks about my thread. I only responded to these posts like I am to your post. Are you sending PM's to those who wrote posts supporting me in this thread and lecturing them? Why not PM me and set me straight if I was doing something against the rules? BTW #2 I saw in one of your posts about the UMC-1 (does that sound familiar) that you made the following comment: ".........I dare say relatively few or any of us has ever brought a product like the UMC-1 to market..Emotiva's customer service is one of the best in the industry..they didn't get that way by not listening to what we want..While they may not do everything as what you..or I would..they do what they do exceedingly well...and the longer you are here..the more you will know they strive to give us what we want...Mac........' Gee Mac, that sure sounds like a praise post to me. The difference chuckie is how you worded the opener..and where you posted it..nothing more..nothing less. Now if you would loose some of your self righteousness..and actually read what the heck I said in my post, you would clearly see I feel the same way about Dan and his company... I said... Note the underlined and italics..I didn't say I had any issue with it,nor was I annoyed by it or you..I said Other people have opinions here besides yourself..and you need remember something, they as well as myself can post them. It's a 2 way street on this..Criticism is something one on any forum anywhere is likely to encounter whenever one decides to post something. It's how one responds that is remembered. No,I don't need to PM you or anyone else who has participated in this thread anything, your post is what it is and I offered some advise. On your qoute of mine from a previous thread, that post was what it was in that instance and I make no contention otherwise, however, had I started that post just praising Dan for a post he previously made and if some folks had an issue with it,or if some said it should be posted elsewhere on the forum I would ask the mods here to move it or delete it,simple as that. It seems to me you are flying off the handle at anyone who isn't slapping you on the back congratulating you for your comments. Again, while I do feel the same about the issue at hand,I do feel the need to comment and offer my opinion, which is my right to do,since I too am a part of this community. So...chill out some...and quit being so defensive...the world isn't going to end because a few here are annoyed by what has been said. It's all good. Mac

sorry to anyone who was offended by my fish license post. It was not meant as instigating...rather, it was intended as a little bit of humor to break up the tension. People are getting entirely too sensitive of their own feelings while having little regard for others.
For crying out loud...if you don't like this thread, then don't come back to it.

Chuck, there is nothing useful in this post, and the only thing relating this to a pre/pro is a link to a sticky, which actually belongs in the pre/pro section. Your comments in the first post are about the company as whole, not the UMC1. You are taking this too personal Chuck. I want information when I go to this part of the Emo boards. This is a praise thread and in the future, all of these threads that add nothing to the actually performance of the unit should be moved elsewhere. I want this place cleaned up probably more than you do it seems. I'm open to PMs if you are Chuckie.

All I can say, for what it's worth (probably not much) many of you have a whole lot more free time than I do. I cannot believe some of what I've read here lately and I can't read all of it-I don't have that much free time nor do I want to....
Just my few pennies........ ;D

People are getting entirely too sensitive of their own feelings while having little regard for others. For crying out loud...if you don't like this thread, then don't come back to it. OK...if you don't mind,I'll play the devils advocate with you on this.If you really feel some are getting too sensitive of their own feelings, without regard for others, then one could find a smidgen of this in you saying basically if you don't like what being said then don't read it..Can't they ? Here's why... The problem is the majority of folks are on pins and needles about this most eagerly anticipated processor for a long long long time.Any thread mentioning it,will draw folks into reading it from front to back. People are wanting to read every bit of news about it because they have been waiting and lusting for it to finally get here and be perfect in every way.Think of all those who have been without a processor because they sold what they did have to buy one of these..or those who have held off with out anything for such a long time because of financial issues..How do you think they feel being told if you don't like it,don't read it? Doesn't their feeling matter to you? Until these processors are done, this is the way it is going to be I am afraid. All the nail biting and frustration and bickering will die down once everything has been perfected, and they are in peoples homes...of this I have no doubt, then there will be a ton of praise post and awesome review post to satisfy the most heartiest of folks. This is what I am looking forward too..and I know everyone at Emo headquarters is too. Have a Great one all... Oh...and to Big Dan and all the fine crew at Emotiva Land...Get ERR Done... ;D Mac

Hmmm, I just skimmed through five pages of comments to hopefully gain some concrete information of when my UMC- 1 will ship or if the SW update is out as stated by EMO. I know it was suppose to be out last week according to their words and then it was changed to this week. Well, being Friday...where is the update. I would call and ask, but every time I do they miss the delivery date they tell me. This happened over five times. I do appreciate Dan's comments, but in reality I still have absolutely no idea when I will get a good functioning UMC I've been waiting for over two years. Well, at least the updates while not really useful, they do make me have a warm fuzzy feeling inside.

I'm starting to think we would all be better off if Emotiva DIDN'T give us any deadlines until they are really sure they can meet them. They have been saying it will be ready in "the next couple days" for the past week +... I hope it is released early next week.

I appreciate the clarity of your revisions Chuck. Going to have to agree to disagree on this though. The clarity of the post was never in question (for me), but rather if it served a purpose in the pre/pro section. I say no, you say yes. Nothing more, nothing less. Thanks for the olive branch Chuckie.

A personal thanks to a company president is, I would think, appreciated no matter where it lies.
Since this thank you is regarding the UMC prepro, it makes sense to be found here.

So Chuckie doesn't get flamed again. emotivalounge.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=preamps&action=display&thread=9051Here is another example of why I have given Emotiva my hard earned $$$ and why they will continue to get it! Go ahead and call me a fanboy. I don't give the slightest care. Thank you Big Dan for keeping us appraised of the situation! I hope there are enough UMC-1's on that boat from the PRC to finish the 1st preorder list so I am one step closer to (pardon my plagiarism of grapenuts) Sonic Nirvana Chris

Call me a fanboy, Emoboy or whatever. There is no other company president who gets my hard earned money that comes on any board or emails me or talks to me on the phone other than Big Dan.
For me, that and overall great products earns my trust and my money!!! Thanks for the latest update. I'm drooling for the UMC-1. ;D

Awesome news from big Dan! I am really excited for you UMC-1 early adopters and the upcoming firmware. Here's hoping that it's the magic pixie dust you all need to fix the bugs. Good luck next week assuming testing over the weekend at Emotiva goes well.
