Stan-the-man made it his own. I kinda like this version; closer to the source material.

^ You meant making bread with flour & water. * Or putting fluoride in our swimming pools! Nope, like fluoride in our drinking water. It's supposed to help our teeth. But, as anyone knows, it causes dain bramage.

Not a great movie by any stretch of the imagination but good eye candy in it.

Not a great movie by any stretch of the imagination but good eye candy in it. Bertolucci's greatest films (for me) are: - "Before the Revolution" - "The Conformist" - "1900" ...(One of my fav) - "The Last Emperor" - "The Sheltering Sky" ...(Many people don't like this one, me I luv it!) * Also, Bernardo Bertolucci co-writed the story with director Sergio Leone of: "Once Upon a Time in the West". ...My favorite Western of all time. Now!, those are True Cinema gems!

* Best is to listen to the French audio soundtrack (which is still bad though), as the English dubbed version is truly awful! The Audio on this BD is about 10 dBs over average (very loud with lots of Rap music)! Lots of action scenes (fighting & running), but with very poor camera work (for my personal taste). Some stunts are quite impressive! ...But that alone doesn't cut it. The acting sucks! The story sucks! This film sucks! * Only one thing is interesting though; it's to see and hear the differences between American and French flicks. WoW! For that alone (mentalities' comparison of both countries in the movie business), I had a few laughs. ...Kind of an eye-opener in some peculiar way...

It's always interesting to hear another country's opinion on the States as it's always so different that what we're indoctrinated with here. I remember going to Niagara Peninsula and hearing how the dastardly Americans invaded Canada during the Revolutionary war. Definitely not how we were told in History class.

The Americans invaded Canada!!! ...What a bunch of revolutionary people! Shishhh! ;D _________________________ Anyway, that French (Paris) movie above does not comment on the Americans; it's the way French people make their movies in compararison to Hollywood, that's all. While watching it you notice they have different views on camera work, stunts, audio soundtrack's mixing, language (of course), but the meaning of the words, their political and cultural origins, ...etc., etc., etc. So it is absolutely normal that it is different, but after watching mainly American movies (with few that are Foreign) for a long long time, you cannot stop noticing the different cultures, political society, and all that Jazzz, you know... Heck, Canadian movies are also different but in many ways they still ressemble American ones (in general). You guys are our next door neighbors, so it's just logical. ...And capitalism has a big influence on us too Canadians. By the way I'm French Canadian; different also of all that "melasse" (molasses)... But the French people from Europe are quite different than people living in North America (English or French, Americans or Canadians). Their philosophies are differently oriented, their values have different levels of priorities, etc. Are they better than us? I don't know, I wasn't born over there near the Eiffel tower! But it's in the movie making subject that I was referring to: The way of doing movies. ...And for that it was interesting and somehow educative too. You know... But deep down inside we all have the same blood color, a heart, a head (sometimes ;D), a bathroom in our houses, a TV, a fridge, a stove, a bed, we all eat food (some better than others), and we all contribute in some ways to the Global economy, and to its construction as well to its deconstruction. Anyhow, it's just a movie that made me aware of few simple facts of life. And only for that reason it redeems itself (only for me personally); but that movie still sucks big time! ["District 13: Ultimatum"]

I wish I had a dollar for every bad movie you have watched. And thanks for weeding out all the bad ones so we don't have to watch them.

So, a bunch of those I'll watch once and that's it! And by commenting on those here for you guys, I provide a free service of info to my fellow members & readers. ____________________________ * Last night: _____________________ And: ^ Don't like it, too simple! _________________________l ^ Just plain dumb! ["District 13: Ultimatum"]Wasn't knocking anyone or anyplace. I've been spit on for being an American or speaking English all over the globe. I just wish more Americans would get the opportunity to look at ourselves from another perspective. For the record I've been to Toronto, Niagara, Montreal and Qubec... I love Canada. A funny joke I was told in Mexico once by a Mexican: Do you know what you call someone who speaks three languages? Do you know what you call someone who speaks two languages? Do you know what you call someone who only speaks one language? Answers: tri-lingual, bi-lingual, American.

^ Hey stiehl11, I know you weren't knocking anyone or anyplace (we are both much too smart for that), we're simply talking about the movie business aspect made from various countries that's all. And that has to do with the financial revenues (what sells) and also it does represent the director, actors, movie workers, and studio audio mixers on their own overall perspective from where they are from and what they grew up with. And I know very well that you did get that point. Hollywood is the capital of the movie industry, and the entire world is influenced by it, fact. * Only very few people have their own personal recipes with their own visions; but usually and unfortunately those movies we never have the chance to see them. This is the world we live in: the best things in life are usually invisible, not known to be in the open; except for the children, the innocence, the nature, the animals and everything else that is not spoiled by false values. Even with all the money in the world (the richest of the richest), those people don't have full control over their life. But they do influence the lifes of the poor though. We absolutely OWN NOTHING in this planet, but our own destiny that is not even of our own choice, just a vague guide. We live very shortly and we die. There is nothing to get too serious about, but to try making life happier and healthier for EVERYBODY. We work most of our lifetime at building what we think is righteous, but at the end of the line we're still talking about the people that came before us 2,000 + years ago! We just ain't different, only time is! What is happyness, what is life, what is love??? ...Just glimpses, bursts, moments that come and go. And we can talk, still talk, and will talk about this forever and forever... Regards, Bob P.S. By the way "Qu ebec" spelled with an "e" in the middle.
