Yeah,I'm familiar with 44.1/88.2 etc...the newer ps3 don't do sacd so that's of no import to me.I guess my ? was whats the 48 all about and why a choice from 44.1,if anyone knows?Is the ps3 an audio upsampler?

I did a little more precise testing, and it seems that the lip-sync delay has to be set to 50-55, or higher, to get the problem to kick in. So If you want to test it, try setting it high (like 100) and the problem should manifest.

Great snooping Sherlock, I mean ratmice. I had a quick moment to disable lip sync and sure enough my system was purged of clicks/smears @ 44.1. I will be working at least 20 days straight, 12 plus hours a day, starting today. I will not have time to update my chart posted earlier in the thread but I will as soon as I can.
Again great work.

Sometimes it's like a click and sometimes it's more like a static sound. It didn't seem to me to be at a regular interval, however.

With limited testing this morning, it seems that FW v6ß has eradicated this particular problem. Way to go!
