Besides being out of phase like RR pointed out, another potential problem is if using spades with UPA binding posts. I changed from bananas to spades and the sound became a liittle thin and tinny. I checked for good connections and noticed the plastic on the base of the binding post stuck out past the metal contact area. I took Lonnie's advice and cut the plastic back and this fixed the problem. No more thin tinny sound. :-)
