I think everyone on the waiting list has a right to be pissed because Emotiva took people's hard earned money as a deposit . . . oh wait, never mind.

I know you're trying to make a point, even jokingly so, but I don't want people to read this and get confused. EMOTIVA HAS TAKEN NO MONEY FROM ITS CUSTOMERS FOR THE XMC-1. NO DEPOSITS WERE REQUIRED TO JOIN THE WAITING LIST.

I have been waiting for this for 5 years buddy, I am not getting any younger. I think I am as entitled as you are to post my comments on this forum as long as it is civil and would never think of "calling someone out" on what they have to say. Need a hug?

I have only have my eyes on the XMC-1 in 4 years time. But hope that this will be a killer product in stability and good room correction with dirac.

I think I am to the point of just having it in my stack, hell they could send me a empty chassis and I would be good with that.

I'm on the original pre order list also and sure I'm always in the mood for a hug. many here can use one.

On a brighter note I can say that my Yamaha CXA-5000 has worked flawless and sounds spectacular ! I have been really intrigued by this processor. Obviously your opinion of the unit seems to be positive. Care to share any further info regarding your personal experience with it? Anybody know of any negative reviews of the unit (I tend to believe you find more about a product by reading negative reviews not rainbow reviews)? I have an SR-120 and while it is working ok at times I am ready to switch to separates.

I know things happen in life and it's been years in the waiting for some with much frustration but with all due respect at the end of the day Dan owes us nothing and has brought us the pleasure being able to own high end performance audio components at amazing prices and share our experiences and interests on the forums. He's obviously trying to satisfy everyone and move mountains for us, even if it's been a difficult challenge. The pressure put upon him today must be immense.

First of all, let me just say that I agree that Emotiva is free to do business however they see fit - in fact, Emotiva should absolutely do business how they see fit, rather that bending to the whim of random people on a forum. I'm minorly annoyed at the wait for the XMC, but I also realize that's mostly my own deal, and not Emotiva's. With that said, I want to address the following sentiment: ... at the end of the day Dan owes us nothing... I'm quoting Storm Angel here, but I don't really want to single out any one poster. I've seen several people post similar things in this and other threads. Dan (and any businessman/entity) owes his livelihood to us. We've made it possible for him to do what he (hopefully and reportedly) loves to do, and make a considerable amount of money doing it. Emotiva's products are only worth something if there are enough customers out there willing to buy them. Collectively we have spent millions with Emotiva, and hopefully will continue spending millions with Emotiva. Personally, I feel like it's been a pretty fair deal so far. I've given thousands of dollars to Emotiva, and they've given me products that I enjoy daily. It's a good equation for both parties. If they want to continue being profitable and stay in business, they owe it to the customers to keep up their end of the bargin. Emotiva hasn't let *me* down yet, but everyone makes that calculation individually.

Free hugs. Step on up here. Free hugs!
Or free beers. I'm always happy to offer beer to people in need.
