Back in my college days, these were my favorite, when I could afford it: Always liked Grolsch. And Saint Pauli Girl, too. I just got an idea for a new thread.

"Volume shipping" starts on Monday! So come on you guys who received your units in May - let's have those reports!

You sir should get unit number 1. Ok, one vote for me for the first XMC1, I am so cool with that and sorry if I bump someone off from the list How can you be the first? The first were shipped "in April" and more were shipped "in May" and "volume shipping" starts Monday - all according to the dedicated XMC-1 website. The mystery is, where are the units that shipped in April and May? Does anyone else think it's odd that not a single unit found its way into the hands of the Emovites on this thread?

^^I am leaning towards the side of some got them but probably are under a Non disclosure agreement until a certain date. I myself wouldnt mind a podcast with an update on the Xmc status.

You mean they are under an NDA because they are beta testing or something? That would make sense, but why would Emotiva post on their site that units "are shipping" in April and May if they don't want it to be known that units are out there? Surely it would be better to just say nothing, or say that units are in the field being beta-tested, which most would see as an enormously positive move, given Emo's history with processors where customers unwittingly ended up being beta testers. It just seems odd to me that some people in this thread have been on the waiting list for years and yet they are not getting the first units shipped. I guess if they shipped just two in April and four more in May, that would explain it and we have no way of knowing how many have been shipped of course. But "volume shipping" starts in June - next week - so we can expect most of the guys on the waiting list will be receiving theirs in the next two or three weeks. Can't we?

SoundChip, you're making too much sense. The little statement "The first Emotiva XMC-1s shipped in April 2014" started my frustration. It should have started my excitement. I hope Emotiva will make me look like a fool after June 1st.
OK, you may bring on the dead horse pictures again.

Volume shipping could start as late as June 30th (a Monday) and their statement still be technically correct. I hope that it's sooner than that. I think it would be neat if they had XMC-1's available at their Emofest on the Road in Atlanta on the 20/21st. What a door prize that would make!?!

I consider myself as being there with the most loyal, patient and understanding Emotiva Lounge members. I never post anything negative or controversial. I am now making an exception.
The XMC-1 has now been shipping over two different months now and not one single person has posted on the Lounge or any other forum about it. That just seems almost impossible.
With the XMC-1 shipping over the two months no representative from Emotiva has made a single comment about it. That seems really odd.
I believe it is fair that we asked the question, "what is the current status with the XMC-1?"
Sincerely, Dave.

Topend. If you consider THAT a "negative or controversial" post...than you must be a very nice person :-)
Maybe Emotiva will give us Umc,Vmc,Wmc,and than XMC-1 ;-) Or maybe give us 80% on our next prosessor purcase that suddenly only cost $10.000. Beyond expectations;-)
God bless us all

> I believe it is fair that we asked the question, "what is the current status with the XMC-1?"
One of two things (in my humble opinion, w/o any inside knowledge):
1) Production is roaring along to buildup a backlog of inventory, for a big bang launch flooding the supply chain. It wouldn't be a very exciting launch if the XMC-1 was shipped out in dribs and drabs.
2) No production, some phuck-up has caused yet another delay.
I expect some very good, or some very bad, news in the next week or two.
Sincerely /b

Why would customers be under a non-disclosure agreement? That's a very good question. Bill

Why would customers be under a non-disclosure agreement? I dont know, but maybe those shipments in april and part of may were shipped to a select amount of people to run it through its paces so Emotiva can iron out any major issues with software. Hence full blown production in june. This is all just speculation on my part.

If that's the case, I wish Emotiva had been a bit more forthcoming about it. Wish in one hand...
