As has been said before, "a number have been shipped and zero is a number." Lol

And shipped is shipped, whether to family members, close friends, reviewers, or beta testers. Just imagine what a stir it would have caused had they said they were shipping to beta testers first, everyone would have been in an uproar had they not been selected in on the beta.

I just wanted mine for my birthday in 10 days...I still have some hope that I will not be too old to enjoy it when it does come. No point in getting all flustered about it, if you have to get something else go for it...otherwise wait. And as the subject says....One Month to go

On a brighter note I can say that my Yamaha CXA-5000 has worked flawless and sounds spectacular ! Likewise.

On a brighter note I can say that my Yamaha CXA-5000 has worked flawless and sounds spectacular ! Same goes for my UMC-1 ! Not mine. It does work OK after all the fixes though, other than the HDMI switching being iffy, but that could well be the HDMI of the time's fault.

Why would customers be under a non-disclosure agreement? That's a very good question. Bill Hey Bill... I could see beta testers being under an NDA. The last thing a company would want is a load of beta testers posting all the faults, bugs and problems all over the net before the manufacturer had had chance to fix things. But if Emo has taken the enormously positive, Oppo-like, move of sending initial units out for beta testing, I’d have thought they would have shouted this from the rooftops. After all, it would be seen as hugely positive, given Emo's past rep, and it would also gladden the hearts of anyone who is waiting for one of these units to know that some are now out in the wild, albeit in a limited way. But they don't say that - they say that some "shipped" in April and some more "shipped" in May. So where did they all go? If they are actually shipping units, even in limited quantities, we might expect the first lot to go to some of the favorable reviewers, such as Audioholcis, to get the juices flowing ahead of the "volume shipping" this month. But, so far, nada. The more cynical members might draw their own conclusions from this deafening silence. I'm also intrigued as to what is the real cause of the delay, from February 14th, to April, to May and now to June. We were told it was to incorporate HDMI 2.0, but that wasn't the case as it turned out and the only hint we have been given since is that Emo and Dirac haven’t yet reached agreement (at the time of the announcement) about the implementation of the XMC-1's only really significant feature - Dirac REQ. If the "volume shipping" doesn't materialize this month, then I think a lot of people will be right to ask a lot of difficult questions. And don't forget that the Atmos-enabled AVRs are now only about 12 weeks away... dealers have already attended demos of Onkyo units for example. And content has already been created specifically for Bluray release in Atmos... interesting times ahead.

Just imagine what a stir it would have caused had they said they were shipping to beta testers first, everyone would have been in an uproar had they not been selected in on the beta. Why? Not everyone would want to be a beta tester. I, for example, wouldn’t beta test if you paid me with gold potatoes. And why would they want to turn away would-be beta testers anyway - the more the better, by definition.

SoundChip, you're making too much sense. The little statement "The first Emotiva XMC-1s shipped in April 2014" started my frustration. It should have started my excitement. I hope Emotiva will make me look like a fool after June 1st. OK, you may bring on the dead horse pictures again. Something shipping "in June" does not mean it will be the 1st of June, it could mean ANY date in June up to the last day of June ...

Amazing...we're back in the same discussion yet again...with the same people making the same points.

Isn't it a little late for beta testing, the XMC-1 was slated for sales to customers, initially targeting Feb 14.

This suspense fuels so much uncertainty and makes me lose confidence on the purchase. I hope something happens soon.

Amazing...we're back in the same discussion yet again...with the same people making the same points. Mark The points being made are very valid ones IMO. If you and others are tired of the "same discussion" maybe avoid this thread. The discussion could be put to rest if Emotiva would elaborate on why there are no signs of any "shipped" XMC-1s. I know the response from some will be "Emotiva has said no more communication on this subject" (or something to that effect). But it was Emotiva communicating on the XMC-1.com site posting "The first Emotiva XMC-1s shipped in April 2014. More are due in May, with volume shipping in June". What is "amazing" to me is that it is the same people saying that the same people are asking these questions . Bill

Another thread that has out-lived it's usefulness. It's quite apparent that when any new information is to be released, that Dan will make that decision until then asking/demanding/repetitious posts of the same nature will be answered on Emotiva's time and not anyone elses.
