Hi everyone, Just a quick note you let you all know that we are very close to releasing the v1.1 revision of the XMC-1 firmware.
We had hoped to release it today, but we found a small bug in beta testing this weekend that is being addressed. I believe we will have it solved in 24-48 hours.
The moment we are happy with it, we will release into the wild. Look here for notification.
This firmware update will address a number of non-critical housekeeping issues, and most importantly improve the stereo bass manager functionality. This is NOT the Dirac update.
Thanks for your patience. Big Dan

This is a HUGE improvement over the way that Emo has handled updates in the past - good on ya, folks! Now, please make sure that you also release *exactly* what is incorporated in the update. That, too, would be a big improvement over past practices...

Wow, slow down Mr Dan - way to fast -- we'll end up beating you up because the XMC-1 firmware updates are in the double digits and we'll wonder went went wrong! I think if they keep adding features like they say, then they INTEND to get into the double digits easily!

Thanks for your patience. Big Dan Gentlemen, We have many hundreds of units on the floor right now, nearly 500, and more parts coming in all the time. We are building them and testing them with great care. Please allow us to to do it correctly for you and don't read a lot of other negative stuff into it. It's not constructive, its not necessary, and most of it is complete conjecture. We are going through the pre-order list methodically and if you decide to purchase, we're getting your units ready to ship ASAP. It's all moving quite nicely. All units being shipped will have the latest firmware. And as always, we will not charge you until shipping is imminent. Next... Big Dan Why don't you shipped last week all the v1.0 already built and waiting on your floor to your waiting customers (me)? We are easily capable of downloading ourselves the firmware when it's released and install it via a USB key, mostly with the new easy and improved update procedure for the XMC-1. Plus it giving you more time and avoid rushing yourself to work on the firmware update. Dont get me wrong, this is a positive comments. Thank you Dan and all the Emo team for the great work, I really appreciate. Cheers, Francois

Any more word on the release of 1.1? I heard the new units are shipping with it now. I think it's been a few weeks since any new units shipped. I base that solely on the lace of recent, "I got my XMC posts." I get the impression they've decided to wait until the firmware fix is available before shipping any more out.

Dan did state that the units shipping this week will have 1.1, so I would think 1.1 is going to get posted fairly quickly. Units are shipping as we speak. There was a slight hold to allow the V1.1 firmware to be installed after testing. We thought it was worth a day or two delay. We'll be shipping a bunch of them this week!! Lots more in the pipeline... Cheers, Big Dan

Never thought I'd be saying this, but loading firmware updates is the least exciting and uneventful feature of the XMC-1.......and that is a good thing!
