I have about 10 more blu-rays with LPCM 5.1 tracks that I will test the UMC-1 on for the mc-pcm processing, having only tried the first two Underworld blu-rays. I do however want an excuse to retire my Panasonic 42" plasma & blu-ray to the bedroom and go with a 58 or 65inch plasma along with another blu-ray player, and this may just be the excuse I've been waiting on. ;D

My DMP-BD55, the model prior to the BD80 you have passes 5.1 PCM through the MCPCM to my processor with no problem (with it set to bitstream for all the sources). So your 80 should do the same. Of course it will sound better if you have a 65" plasma.

I think I may totally do a complete re-load of the V6 software with the beta 2 as a replacement in the second step and see if this has any effect on my situation. I've heard that a 65in plasma has that effect on the audio, though I believe that to be a "hypothesis" and not a "theory" as of yet. ;D

LC, I got a 65 Panny Plasma and get all 5.1 channels in LPCM. Sounds like the fix to your problem

Here is an interesting thought Seminole.... I am pretty darn sure you are not running underworld blu-ray at < 720p, and besides I think Underworld is at 48khz, but still thought this was interesting and should be known for people that are having issues with their player not outputting multi-channel.
From the Oppo BDP-83 manual:
If you use HDMI to connect audio to an HDMI A/V receiver or audio processor, it is important that you choose 720p or higher HDMI output resolution when playing high resolution audio content (DVD-Audio, SACD, Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio). According to the HDMI specification, the bandwidth available for audio is proportional to the total bandwidth used by video. At 480p/576p resolution, the HDMI specification can only support 2 channels of audio with high sample rate (up to 192kHz), or 8 channels of audio with standard sample rate (up to 48kHz). If you play high resolution audio content at the 480p/576p resolution, you may get reduced audio resolution, incomplete audio channels, or even no audio/video output at all. Choosing a higher output resolution such as 720p or above allows enough bandwidth for all high sample rate audio channels.

I'm currently using the PS3 Slim for BD playback and I had to enable manually 5.1 LPCM uncompressed to achieve 5.1 audio instead of just leave it to auto-detect which when I just got 2ch. Apparently the PS3 didn't select all the possible uncompressed modes such as 192khz and only selected only 48khz to output. By configuring the PS3 to output all LPCM modes, it went just fine.
