Great screen name Big Vag! (when pronounced like the "veg" in vegetable but with an "A") The great power cable debate is about to begin here my friend...I will get some popcorn ready. ;D

Ok, I'll start! The cord will only be as good as the plug it's going into and the plug is only as good as the wiring it's connected too.
That's it for starters. I'll let someone else take it from here!
Hey paintedklown, can I get some candy floss with that popcorn! ;D

*Snacks for everyone! Pick your favorite!* ;D I am sure that there are others who have purchased the X series power cables. I am not so sure they happen to be regulars on this forum however...I am not inherently against the idea of swapping power cables, but I do feel that Emotiva already provides us with an excellent power cable in the box. It does the job perfectly, so for me, I see no need to change the cable to another one...YMMV. Good luck, and please do a blind test and report your findings back to us on the lounge.

I bought an Emo power cable.. because I needed a longer cord. I am using it with the XPA-2 and I find that when it is not connected to the amp, I do hear a difference than when it is connected. So using a power cord versus not using one definitely does make a difference that anyone should be able to hear. I don't know what all the fuss or controversy is about.

I notice a small difference in my music now, I haven't watched a movie yet. I listened to a few song this morning that I always play, and I noticed its alittle on the brighter side, and it seems to have altittle more detail to it. Now it just could be my head messing with me, I'm going to play a song at the same volume then switch out the x series to the factory cord to see if I hear a difference. But as of this morning I'm impressed with my emo bucks spendings. That's good man. All kidding aside, that is what this hobby is all about. Being happy with the "tweaks" and changes to our setups.

Well its not my final opinion yet, I still want to give it a few days to burn in and want to do a comparision of the factory vs the x. That's what we all love around here. A/B tests...blind tests even better!

Monku, Which one did you not have connected. Was the stock one not connected or the other one. If neither was not connected, how do you know which one you weren't listening to???

What are you, some kind of troublemaker? Now you got me thinking maybe my test was flawed. I'm going to have to not hook up the stock power cable to my XPA-2 but then get another XPA-2 and not hook up the Emo X-series power cable to that one and see if there is a difference. Or do you think it will matter if I use an XPA-2 and an XPA-3? Heck I guess it would because the XPA-3 would have 1.5x as much crosstalk as the XPA-2 and taint my results. Dang it, now I'm gonna have to go buy a couple of UPA-1's!!

I only have the stock cable so I know which one I'm not testing when its not connected.

Ya'll don't pay no attention to Monku's testing. He done plugged both of his X-series powercords into a skinny extension cord he bought from the local Big Lots for 99 cents and then plugged that ext cord into a 15 amp outlet that also runs his wife's sit down hair dryer. Now he has to crank the volume to max everytime his wife drys her hair. Not to mention, his ears ain't so good or he would own monoblocks already. ;D

Just keep making fun of my experiments but I'll have the last laugh when I find that ultimate power cord! Right now I have on order something even fancier than the Emo X-series power cord. This one is really fancy because it is directional - it has arrows on the cord that show which way the current is supposed to flow. I'm not trying to brag about my stuff, jes' saying what it is, you know..

You wouldn't want to run out during testing.

I just picked up some electrons at my local dealer. It was a steal of a deal. 3 electrons for the price of one
