I love my LED meters on my XPA-1's. I do wish the power button, rear RCA jacks and chassis were a little bit better as far as quality is concerned but at this price I can't expect that. Would be willing to pay extra for these though. A brightness control for the LED's and blue light would be a nice feature.

Old thread but still dreaming Emotiva will launch a new amp with big analogue power meters. Mmmmmm an XPA-2 with these would be so awesome. Something like the Onkyo M-5000R but with Emotiva blue, performance, and style. Come on Emotiva pretty please, this would be a HUUUUUGE seller!!!

Interesting... I must be one of the few that doesn't like VU nor LED meters. Status lights I understand, gives indication to a fault; however, dancing LEDs or VU meters, simply not my cup of tea.

I am with the author of this review with his opening line! www.audioholics.com/amplifier-reviews/onkyo-m-5000r-p3000r-c7000r-flI know some don't like them, but they are already very well catered for by Emotiva. Still I think an Emotiva XPA-2 i.e special edition (got to be two channel so they can dance together) with big analogue (or analog for those state side) meters would set a new sales record! Love to see some other (re:more talented)ideas as well!

I also like these very big stylish meters of Technics. You can't make them much larger than this:

I still think the R series would be the place for a high cost addition like VU meters, they could make quite a statement.

If it did 300X2 I would jump on it..into 4ohms that is..cause I like this amp a lot..but they are asking way to much for it..over priced for sure..But I see that it is rated into a 2ohm load at 320 watts..ummm...mono that is..

Love to see some others ( re: more talented) show some ideas as well- I would buy a special edition XPA-2 with meters. But a special edition tube amp with meters would make my head (and wallet) explode.

You've got to be kidding, Yuk, spew, VU meters are so '70's, in that one decade alone I must have had 20 or more bits of audio gear with analogue meters. At one stage I had a tuner, cassette player, pre amp and power amps all with meters. I got over the need for visual confirmation of how loud the music was decades ago. I learnt that my ears are a far better judge of loudness than a bunch of rapidly swinging needles. The novelty will quickly wear off Cheers Gary
