The Onkyo style white on black looks the most sophisticated. All that blue or amber would be distracting and guady.

I wouldn't be stacking close together anyways, more to compare. I just hope that one day Emotiva do bring back a 2 channel amp with VU analog dials Are you allowed to say all that blue would be 'distracting and gaudy' in the Emotiva lounge??? Haha Attachments:

You've got to be kidding, Yuk, spew, VU meters are so '70's, in that one decade alone I must have had 20 or more bits of audio gear with analogue meters. At one stage I had a tuner, cassette player, pre amp and power amps all with meters. I got over the need for visual confirmation of how loud the music was decades ago. I learnt that my ears are a far better judge of loudness than a bunch of rapidly swinging needles. The novelty will quickly wear off Cheers Gary Nice speakers you have! I'm looking at going the same way soon, heard very good things about them!! Just for you mate Attachments:

Bit rough......but you get the idea. Anyone else?? DragonV, those look great! I'm having trouble choosing. How long before you'll have them for sale? Hopefully Emotiva will soon release one to go with my current setup, and soon to own XMC-1

Do the UV meters via the OLED display of the XMC and you can then just pick one from whatever style you want.

Like I said three years ago when this thread began: I hate front panel meters. I do not ever want to own another amp with them. To each his own, but to me they are useless and distracting.

The beauty of personal choice. Those that dislike vu meters are already well catered for by emotiva. For those that love them (and sure there are plenty) a emotiva xpa2 special edition etc for sale might just show how popular they really are!!!

Yes I would.

For most Emotiva equipment, no problem. Their XPR series amps, though, have thick cast faces that are not easily removed or sanded. Even if one did remove the anodized black coating from an Emotiva faceplate, there would still be the issue of how to replace the silkscreened lettering & markings. Too much effort for me.
I would, however, happily pay Emo an extra $20 to $30 if I could buy a factory silver face for my gear!
