I can only hope that someday every preamp accepts USB inputs. I'd get an XDA-1 and UMC-1, but I have no need for the video capabilities of the UMC.

I'm not one for tests and measuring and think end of the day real world application is where it's at. That said I think it sounds in cases like these with the bleeding/crosstalk ofis more a matter of things just not being matched well through-out the system maybe.
Doesn't make the UPA-7 but rather just makes it a bad choice for some folks systems as most owners seem to be very happy with it. If it was a true problem with the amp itself would it not present itself in most every circumstance/use in stead of jsut a couple of situations?

The UMC-1 at it's price point for surround processing is still quite worthy of buying even if your not using the video side of things. Can only agree about USB inputs ;D

THe UPA-7 is actually just fine used with same senistivity speakers/single zone use. I was originally looking for an inexpensive 7 channel amp to power a 5.1 system and a second zone 2 stereo system. In my case it just doesn't work out well. No matter because I sold the UPA-7 for the same price I originally paid and picked up an XPA-5 for the exact same price as the UPA-7 and added a pair of UPA-1's a few weeks later, so in the end it worked out fine for me.

So, nobody sees a connection between these points:
1) amps discontinued 2) original XMC is now a different high end prepro, likely in $3000 range 3) Jade buys out Sherbourn
Best case scenario: Emo becomes low end of company, pay plenty more to get high end audio.
Worst case: Emo disappears and Dan is back to "normal" distribution methods with 75% markup, like Onkyo, Denon, etc.

Such speculation might be fun but it's seldom correct.

So the question is: WHen is Dan or Lonnie going to post in on this thread with a heads up on their plans, because you KNOW they are already aware of this thread. Im really shocked these products are being discontinued now. UPA-1's aren't even a year old yet, UMC-1 still is awaiting a final code, products are obviously all selling well(products always out of stock etc). I want to know whats the beef and whats in store for the future? I have 2 pairs of XPA-5's now and a pair of UPA-1's, even with the info I still would have bought. So whats the deal?

I called to order a UPA-7 today and I was told that not only are they sold out, but they are now discontinued!!! I'm very suprised to hear this. I was told by the girl that there would be a new product line out in the spring to summer, and that I could still order the XPA series...but the UPA series was DONE. DAMN!!! Happy New Year to y'all! Just a quick note to clear the confusion. The UPA-5 is discontinued. The UPA-7 will be back in stock late January. All of the other U series products are in stock and shipping! Have a great day and we wish you the best in 2011!

Cathy is saying only the UPA-5 is being canceled. Personally since the UPA-7 is the only 7 channel amp they make I doubt it would be canceled at this point.

Can someone point me to where the price of the XMC went from "around $1,000", as stated at Emofest, to $3,000? After reading some of the post I'm expecting to hear that "Johny and the Mothers are playing at the Savoy" at some point.
