saw YO Yo MA - part of Amelia Island Chamber Music Festival. I'm open to anything but RAP, but this was pretty un-moving - perfect but un-moving. Saw/listened to an acoustic guitarist in a restaurant and he was excellent bought a cd.

Last Thursday night it was Dianna Krall with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra at the Sydney Opera House.
She was amazing, despite having a slight cold I suspect, the Orchestra was sparingly utilised but stunning when required. Cheers Gary

Last live show I attended was The Mavericks at The Keswick Theater in Glenside, PA., a former movie house turned live music venue. The sound was absolutely HORRIBLE. Way too loud and terribly distorted. I waited until after intermission to see if their sound techs would make adjustments but no go, so my friend and I left - it was really that bad. It's too bad that some bands don't care enough to get their sound right. I've seen other bands at the same venue whose sound was excellent, usually, but not always, when the house engineer is at the controls. Another converted movie theater in my area is The 1812 Theater in Sellersville, PA. I was fortunate to open a show there for Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver a couple years back. After our set we settled in and enjoyed an awesome show and complimentary libations. Win, win!

A must see act IMHO! Often the venue is responsible for the sound not the band....of course the band should be supervising...

Yesterday went to see "Witches", being the 4 girls who have at various times and in various parts of the world played Elphaba and Glinda in Wicked together with Ben Eliis, the Phantom, and the Sydney Symphony Orchestra. Absolutely amazing performances and brilliant orchestration by Kellie Dickerson who also assumed her role as Conductor of the SSO. Cheers Gary

Saw "Ana Popovic" Last night at a small local venue here in Pensacola. It's the 2nd time I've seen her. If you get a chance to see her, GO! A short video from last night. And yes, we were that close and it is loud.

Guess where I was last night; Amazing 2.25 hours, I think Adam was lucky to be chosen by Brian and Roger, but equally I think Roger and Brian are lucky to have Adam. It just works, results in truly memorable performances, which I never thought possible after the loss of Freddie. If you get the chance you just have to go, if you are a Queen fan, don't even think about it, just do it. They were only scheduled for the one show in Sydney, which sold out in minutes, and I was lucky and manged to buy some good seats for the 2nd show. Don't think for one second think that Brian and Roger must be too old to be as great as they used to be. I think Adam, with his unlimited enthusiasm, has given them new life, they are truly electric, for over 2 hours. Cheers Gary
