I just saw Robert Plant and it was great.
The Stones are not so good anymore. Way past their prime.
I bet Paul Simon was great.

Paul was great, and I am jealous you saw Robert Plant. he was in town during the snowstorm in February and we could not get downtown so we missed his concert. We enjoyed seeing him with Alison Krauss a couple of years ago and we went to see him at the Ryman in 2006, I was surprised at how good he still is.

Besides the great concerts I saw back in my "other life"-Zepplin, Jethro Tull, The Who, Sabbath, 10 Years After, on and on, etc. etc.
The best to date has been TSO. Just an outstanding show and fantastic musicians. ;D

My favorite from the past? ... Pink Floyd. Emerson, Lake & Palmer was cool too. So was Jethro Tull. * We're back in the early seventies here.

The best concert I saw was in '72, Elton John. But I saw many others that I remember fondly. Perhaps the worst was in the late '70s, Jefferson Starship. Grace Slik and the others were past their prime and I don't think Jorma Kaukonen was with them anymore. The group that I wished I'd seen was the Grateful Dead, one of my favorites to this day.

I saw Kylie Minogue at the Hollywood Bowl last Friday. I never been to the Hollywood Bowl and I really liked the venue . It is outside and the sound system is very good. You can bring your own food in and have a picnic before the show. Kylie put a good show on and played a mix of old and new songs.

Just saw Jackson Browne last night. What a great concert!! Solo acoustic -- just him and his 17 guitars and 1 keyboard. He has no set playlist and ineracts with the crowd with some great stories about his songs and his life. The sound was awesome -- he played a smaller venue so the acoustics were spot on. Highly recommended if you have an opportunity to catch his show!!
I saw him in 1980 on his Hold Out tour and I still consider that show as one of my favorites -- he did a solo acoustic set at that one, as well as a set with the rest of his band. And even though it was in an bigger arena, the sound was great and it felt like a much more intimate setting. He knows how to put on a quality show and really bond with the crowd, and he hasn't lost a thing IMHO.
His Jackson Browne - Solo Acoustic Vol 1 & 2 CDs from a few years ago provide a good preview of this current tour.

Friday night Tracy Morgan at the Ryman (extremely crude) not really sure if he is trying to be funny/ruffle feathers or he if is simply completely insane... I think he is insane, or off his meds. The show was awful. I wanted to get up and leave, but our seats were up front and I was afraid he would pick on me, like he did other guests. The media is complaining about his bashing, but that was just the tip of the iceberg. He ranted about things I have never heard anyone speak of ever! Dan thought we were going to see the funny guy from 30 Rock! It was obvious he did not have anyone writing any material for him

I hate to date myself, but one of the most memorable concerts I attended was The Mama's and Papa's in their early days. Mama Cass was extraordinary. She had one of those once in a life-time voices -- truly blessed. It's a shame she died so young.

I tried to see Janis but alas never did...
