I will NOT go to any show where TicketBastid is the seller - I HATE those pirates! For that reason, I restrict my concert-going to small venues and nightclubs nowadays.
Living in Nashville we are fortunate to have so many shows to see each year. As we approach summer time, I thought I would start a conversation about all the great (and not so great) shows we all see/hear.
Our favorite venue is the historic Ryman Audiotorium. The "Mother Church of Country Music" is more than just the former home of the Grand Ole Opry it actually attracts an eclectic mix of music. Last Saturday Dan and I saw Tom Jones, and at 71 he put on a great show. His voice is strong, his band is young and his mix of music styles was upbeat. His new songs are bluesy, not "Vegas" of the 70's and the crowd went wild with his updated versions of a couple of old tunes. Sound was great, not too loud; a fun and upbeat show.
Who have you been to see lately? ;D ;D
we have seen lately "the Eagles","Steely Dan","Steve Miller","War",
& "Jimmy Thackery"(which is a show from the Sacramento Blues Society) that I belong to.*excellent show* www.jimmythackery.com/
by far the best sounding show was Steely Dan,
but the best "bass" was absolutely "War". the bass at that show was really amazing.

Joe Cocker put on a great set of favorites and mixed in some good album cuts - good band and a very nice Tahoe evening (though this shows, I really need an iPhone 5!)

I just recently,Aug 25, saw John Hiatt in Bayfield Wisconsin under a tent that holds 900 people. I was very impressed with the sound quality and the performance, Johns band was a bunch of young hot shots from Nashville and they really tore it up. The older he gets the better he gets.

So I just got back from Nashville. WOW what an experience. I saw so much good music......hard to even begin. Many many highlights but we did get to see Richard Thompson perform 1952 Vincent Black Lightning at the AMA awards. Also Bonnie Raitt and John Hiatt sang a duet on Bonnie's Thing Called Love. Oh yeah and Booker T started the whole show with Green Onions. WOW.
Photos after I recover.

In summary - WOW. If you have never done a festival (ACL, South by South West, Crossroads, etc.) do it! Sorry the pics took all week but I wasn't "right" until Wednesday and then the kids had too much going on.
Nashville Rocks!

Where did you find that? Does it show him in any other cities?
Right now the Bridge School Benefit concert is streaming at www.bridgeschoolbenefit.org - I can't say the video or sound is that great, but some good music coming along. Foster the People right now - Jack White - Neil Young & Crazyhorse later.
