thanks Chuckie and MadNorseman. took your advice and moved stuff around. Looks like I need a second sub to return symmetry! BTW, added my dad's old Sansui 310 receiver and cheapo Kenwood turntable to the mix, until the XPS-1 phono stage comes out. Then upgrade the TT next. I'll keep "borrowing" my dad's records for now. Oh! as well an old Electrohome console stereo unit with turntable/AM/FM behind the right speaker for now. I was thinking of modifying it and adding in a ipod dock with my O2 headphone amp. Basically create a listening station. Then moveit behind the couch? whrlwndz, great system! Looks very nice. Very good choice of components. For improved sound you might consider placing the center speaker on the upper shelf and out at the front leading edge of the shelf. This defines the sound and puts the tweeter closer to the tweeters in the L&R speakers and also closer to the screen for more precise dialog location. Having the center speaker back inside the shelf compartment tends to give a boxy warm sound to the dialog. Suggest also moving the L&R speakers slight forward of the front edge of the cabinet. ;D ^+1 Also, move your front speakers a bit farther apart (by 2 or 3 feet at least), and position your sub between one of your fronts and the rack the TV sits on for improved sound as well. Great start you have there!

Good job. That is certainly a lot better. Now if you could move the speakers just a tad forward from the plane of the racks that should help. Also, to avoid putting that left speaker in the corner and causing uneven frequency response, try moving the ENTIRE SETUP a foot or so to the right

Good job! That should improve your soundstage noticeably. And yeah, a 2nd sub is always a nice thing to have ..."gee honey, see that space there? See how another sub would fit JUST right?..."

Recently I changed from my old setup to a new custom build cabinet. There was nothing on the market even close to what I wanted and needed. So we found a company willing to build the cabinet to the exact specifications. If you look closely, you see it is stands on 4 industrial wheels; for easy access to the back of the stuff. The door in the middle is made of aluminum with white glass. When everything is on it shows the nice Emotiva blue glow. The remote control still works even with closed door. With the door closed:
