Sweet! You are the closest person I have found to where I live mattyd. I live about 5 mins. from Augusta, GA. You're just right up the road. Until I read your post, I thought I was the only person around here that has some Emotiva gear. By the way, I can't wait for these subs to come out too!

It is kind of lonely being an audiophile in SC. Glad to see another person nearby who likes something other than Blose.

OK, so how about some substance to this thread. Dann, Lonnie etc: How about some stats or questions answered on these subs. A. RMS power(.1% max)? CLass D? A/B? other? B. Internal volume? Sealed? Ported? C. Front firing or downward firing(preferred) driver? D. Variable xover? Frequency Slope?(Hopefully 12/24db switcheable) E. Variable phase control? F. BYPASS/LFE input(bypasses all interal amp xover/eq functions)? G. Adjustable subsonic filter? H. Manual PEQ(including frequency, level and Q)? I. Pass through or master/slave function(to daisy chain subs)? Pictures? Lets get some MEAT to this thread!

However, if you want to get a leg up, nearly all of this detail is available on this board from 12 to 18 months ago when the ERS series were initially announce... including photographs and screenshots of the GUI control system. How close the newly redesigned versions will be to the initial versions is anybody's guess. You will love the control you will have over xovers, frequency slopes, etc. It is all user adjustable. It would probably be worth you effort to dig out the threads this is discussed in. Those screen shots truly make on salivate in anticipation of the sub's release. Happy hunting.

As far as prices go, its been said that the prices will most likely increase from their original estimate they gave us way back when. Hopefully it wont be to much of an increase. Estimated prices are... Ultra Sub...$499 ERS-112 (Single 12") - $799 ERS-212 (dual 12 subs)- $999

There will be DSP proessing with room EQ (which was the first link i showed you). Like all emotiva products so far, the subs will be sealed. Enclosure size will be pretty small boxes, but not sure on any numbers off the top of my head.

After Emotiva placed the original design for the ERS series subs on the back burner, about a year ago, very little has been released. At Emofest, Big Dan told me that it was decided that the subs were on the cusps of being released when it was decided that they were just not good enough to put the Emotiva badge of them. He said that they were very good and would have sold very well, but Emotiva wanted something above and beyound what anyone else was offering.
As a result, the engineers went back to ground zero and totally redesigned the ERS subs. The enclosure was totally reworked; the drivers were replaced; a brand new amplifier was designed specifically for this sub, doubleing the RMS output; and the equalizer/control module was reprogrammed. Dan said that all of the various upgrades have been thoroughly tested and implemented to produce a revolutionary subwoofer system. He also said that all the component parts are in the factory warehouse and ready to start production.
When I tried to get a more accurate release date for the re-vamped design, all Dan would commit to was that they would look to find a slot in the production schedule near the end of the year. No pricing information was forthcoming and no information on the enclosure's physical dimensions or acoustical properties were released. It will be a sealed system.
We are all anxiously awaiting its release and further details on the specs. I expect that once the UMC-1 is smoothly released with routine production scheduling, the ERS subs will see daylight. It appears that this should happen relatively soon as the first production run of UMC-1's will be shipping any day now.

Chuckienut and others I just spent the last two hours trying to find the post I saw recently from Emotiva on the performance on the ERS-212. It is no where to be found, or should I say that I was unable to find it again. I was either too high on my pain meds or the post was removed because they were not ready to release the info. My mind is so foggy after going through so many threads hunting for "the post", but I think it was from Big Dan -- but it may have been Lonnie's or Dann G's. Sorry for not copying it when I first saw it. Oh, well, lesson learned. That will teach me not to be so lazy. It never occurred to me that it might get deleted. Thirty lashes with a wet noddle for me. Oops. Wrong thread... sorry about that.

Not to worry, the big dog subs will be released, they have not been shelved or forgotten. The reason it is taking so long is because it is a very complicated product. But they will be released. We have built thousands of subs over the years so the UL subs were quick and hopefully will help people out until we can release the big dogs.
