I'd also like to see the gain set to 28/29 not 32 for these new amps. So okay, then wouldn't these new XPR series amps if they have *adjustable* gain do this for you too then? Like the current Parasound Halo A31 (3 x 250w), or Parasound 5250v.2 (5 x 250W). I just think adjustable gain is the best of BOTH worlds and satisfies audio guys like yourself, and AVR as a pre-po guys like I hope to become. Say, set at THX standard of 29db, but adjustable +/- 6db or so? Perfect!

I'd be surprised if the XPR amps had adjustable gain. Previous Emo amps have not - and there just isn't enough demand for the adjustment (and associated extra cost). The high gain sometimes makes tweaking other devices in the chain a little more difficult - but most AVRs/Pres allow enough range to compensate. I actually didn't know that there was a THX gain standard. Nifty. July is coming soon... time for more info!

Yeah, the THX amplifier gain standard is 29db. But the upcoming XPR series is supposed to be the "reference" series, and at a higher cost, so a bit of extra expense (like to add +/- 6db adjustable gain) would not at all be out of line, and would in fact (IMO) fit right in with the whole XPR concept!
Yup! - July is right around the corner where we're all expecting more XPR related release info - power up, and bring 'em on!!! ;D

I'll agree with the new reference line = new features logic.

I didn't know that any of the rack mounted had gain control.
Thanks for mentioning it.

According to my buddy Google (and the 100 degree high temps), summer is here: "The astronomical summer (Northern Hemisphere) began Wednesday, June 20, 2012, and ends Friday, September 21, 2012." Hoping they still start shipping this summer! I bet they're on a boat somewhere.......... ;D

I think that a pre-order list is only warranted for a standalone component such as a Pre/Pro, DAC or Pre-Amp. It is very unlikely when for a family of components like amp or speaker series
