^ Ditto. However, if a tuner is included, let it be an HD tuner, with RDS. Yes, HD radio and Internet radio please.

Network play, dlna and or AirPlay. These are much more useful than Bluetooth.

I'm still with the integrated too, but just electronics, no sources - and the Bluetooth is a great addition, no need for ATV etc.
Make the sources: CD, Internet radio / DLNA / AirPlay, whatever, separate units. You could add AM/FM/HD to the iRadio but I could live without it.

A CD is definitely on the list I just haven't haven't finished the prototype yet. I love you, Lonnie! ;D ;D How important is an AM/FM tuner? For me, not important at all. I've quit listening to terrestrial radio due to the poor quality content, not to mention commercials, music I'm not really interested in, and endless repeats of current singles. One last thing you should know is the cost. The separates would run around 500 and the single unit would be around 400. Which is the main reason we wanted to put it out here for you guys to see and vote. To put in quality parts, they seemed a bit pricey, so we wanted to see if it was worth it to our customers. Not a problem. I pretty much guessed this price range anyway. I think most of us here would prefer quality parts. In fact, that's one reason I buy Emotiva. There are other systems available for less money, but they do not sound as good, nor are they as well built. I've owned some of those, so I know of what I speak. Hands-down quality parts, please. Regarding separates vs integrated, I can see both sides of the equation. For me, it really doesn't matter. I would buy either. I would consider separates a more "pure" expression, along with the benefits of component isolation, a la carte marketing and purchase options, and (perhaps) having more audiophile appeal since similar devices at this price range are integrated. Yes, this product line is totally worth it for me. I would love to have a high-quality, compact mini-system from Emotiva. Feature suggestion: I think this may have been mentioned already, but I second a vote for a lossless analog volume control for the PRE-1 (or integrated version) like the XDA-2 has. This would be the yummy, chocolatey frosting on the cake.

I believe I would use this for zone 2. It's the right size and has just what I need for second zone. Again separates so that an additional amp-1 could be added.

$400 all in one is an amazing price point! I think that would sell by the boatloads. I too think $500 for two separates is fantastic too. As I mentioned I would like the separates but think the all in one would sell better for regular customers. Honestly, I don't like the idea of a cd player especially for the separate unless it acts as a transport. The only reason I feel that way is because I use my computer and I don't want the overall sound quality to be reduced due to budget being spent on the cd player.

If the CD player is separate and optional how would that affect your budget?
Edit: Oh you're saying you don't want to pay for another DAC?

At this price point, I think a transport-only device would be the ideal component. If one wants a full-fledged player with analog outs and high-quality playback to an analog preamp, then the ERC-2 would fill that need.

Separate cost 500 each while combine cost 400?

Separate cost 500 each while combine cost 400? I'm pretty sure Lonnie meant $500 for the PRE-1 + AMP-1 together.

audiohtit. A separate CD transport would be great - no probs there. I don't think it would be implemented that way. It would probably be put into the pre-1

And if you did do a separate transport only CD player, you could easily combine it with an xda or other dac as needed. Just don't know how much you actually save doing tx only.

Because this unit has both analog and digital input, you can connect a CD player with both analog and digital and decide which sound you prefer.

This is what I have been wanting for. A small foot print but high quality for a desk top system with a CD player all separates.
I have just seen some of these systems being offered by PRO-ject and Cambridge audio. I hope Emotiva will offer something like this soon.

So maybe the source player could also be 'integrated'; CD transport, iRadio, DLNA, AirTunes. Two units could do it all (for most), 'source unit' and integrated amp.
Edit: To clarify I don't mean that the source units are part of the amp, the integrated amp w/DAC would be as pictured. Just the source components could be combined together in a second unit.

Good Lord! From a 'simple' integrated amp you guys want to stuff a tuner (with HD radio of course!) which makes it a receiver, and CD player - and don't forget WiFI capability - airplay - bluetooth - Pandora - etc! That 'integrated' amp will end up weighing 60 pounds. Not a 'mini' in my book.
I've been lobbying for a very long time on an Emotiva integrated amp with a DAC. Its simple to make and makes sense for the majority. Separates do not necessarily sound better but they ALWAYS take up more room. An integrated amp/DAC gets rid of all those cables - a real eyesore in a bedroom setup which is where this would go. And I don't want a built in CD player - something to break down is all I see with that. Three digital and three analog inputs are enough for most of us.
Reminds me of the development of the Bradley Fighting Vehicle - which started out as a simple troop carrier and ended up damned near a tank. And weighs more than some tanks.
K.I.S.S. - works for me. Integrated amp with DAC. I'll take TWO PLEASE! And NO fries on the side!

How much power would these have?
40-50 watts per. chan would be great.
And I agree I would rather not have the CD player built in. Or any radio or WIFI or blue whtever. Good God just a stereo would be great. ;D
