I'm trying to like the new forum look and feel, but I'm just not feeling the love yet... Still no spell check available for when I create postings, (no matter WHAT hemster says!). When I click on one of my recent postings it takes me (not to that post), but to the very beginning of the damn thread (I hate that!). Not friendly for uploading .jpgs into a post. Locks up, 'spins' forever w/o 'taking', forcing me to cancel, etc. What's happended? New site is slow (too graphics heavy?) takes a longer time to load, and to change pages, and so on...and yes, I do have adecent computer... Nope, the 'ol Norseman's not feel'in the love, yet...maybe with time and more improvements?

Nope, the 'ol Norseman's not feel'in the love, yet...maybe with time and more improvements? The speed thing isn't us nor graphic related. I think there are still some bugs to be worked out with ProBoards v5 that are completely unrelated to this forum. I know change is always difficult, and believe me, I, and everyone else at Emotiva, never intended to revamp the forum on a public stage. However, when all of ProBoards went v.5 we sort of had no choice. That's not an excuse, just the reality of the situation. Some of the other issues you've brought up are CSS related (coding) and we're addressing them and others. But the speed thing isn't us. Sorry. I know you all want answers/solutions and we're all working very hard to get them to you, but it is a process. Hang in there, it gets better day by day.

That was hemster's suggestion too, but seriously, I've searched all through my profile settings/options and can't find where where it asks me to 'set a language'. (Might have to select "Angry Care Bear" for my language when I do come across it... ). So please point me in the right direction...can't find it...

(Might have to select "Angry Care Bear" for my language when I do come across it... ). So please point me in the right direction...can't find it... OK let me do this stepwise. I'll post for Chrome: 1. Click in the editor (under Quick Reply) at the bottom of the thread (as if you were about to make a new post). 2. Right-click and select "Spell-checker options" 3. Select "Language settings" 4. Select the language. Most the US users it'll be "English-US" 5. Click the "Enable spell checking" checkbox 6. Click "Done" Now you have selected a language as well as enabled spell-check. This means each misspelled word will be highlighted with a squiggly red line under it. Right-click on such a word to see alternate spellings. Note that at step 4 you can also customize the dictionary and add words such as "Emotiva" etc.. Hope this helps. There are such options available for both Firefox and Internet Explorer.

For FireFox just right click in the "Quick Reply" box at the bottom of the page, and make sure "Check Spelling" has a green check mark next to it. You may also make your language selection the same way, just hover over "Languages" and move to the right to select.

Chrome is an alternative browser (as is Firefox) to Internet Explorer. For IE, try going into Tools then Internet Options. In that window should be a tab for languages. After selecting that button there will be another button to select language preferences.

^What he said! Check out Chrome. It's the fastest browser available. Much, much, much better than IE9. Sis I say it was better than IE?

Well, after a little digging it appears IE9 may not have a built-in spell checker. I use IE10, Chrome, and Firefox and they all have a spell checker. With IE9 it appears your options would be upgrade to IE10 or download and install Chrome or Firefox or check a free add on spell checker called Speckie. I can't comment on Speckie one way or the other but it's supposed to add that functionality to IE9.

I like the upgrades. I do have to manually input the BB code for urls and images so that I can have a image reference a url unless I am doing something wrong. [url=PUT-LINK-HERE][img]Put-IMG-Address-here][/img][/url] If I use the insert url or img it is a different outcome. The other thing I noticed is the Messages. I used to see my message count and whether I had a new one and not sure how I status that without going into messages. It is much more convenient to have the status up by my login as before. Otherwise, Good stuff. I like the thumbs up button and use it on "Currently Playing" and I like the support of other video formats other than Youtube. Keep up the good work.

While I'm still hoping for a "Top" button at the bottom of each page above the Quick Reply box, I have a comment about the new forum banner. While it is nice and all, since it's a fixed width it gets truncated badly by those of us old geezers who have to zoom in our browser window to read the forum. Here's some code to allow the graphic to resize with the window, if you are so inclined. If not, I'll deal. LINK TO CODEDave, The page navigation floats as a toolbar. I like it way better than before as you can navigate from the middle of a page instead of at the top or at the bottom. Is that widget showing up for you? The widget is on the top part but always there. Let me know?

In your inbox it doesn't show you who sent the message but who created the original thread (me). So it's very hard to identify who is sending you messages because it's most of it's just listed as me.

The Top button I am talking about is to jump to the top of any page. Most forums I use have this feature and it is very handy when replying to a long thread. Perhaps that function could be added to the navigation bar, i don't know.

I'm going to be reviewing most Emotiva products present and future and am mulling around ideas on how best to incorporate the reviews here on the forum. The reviews will be featured on the Emotiva website but I do want to include them here as well. Should they have their own section, or should they simply be part of existing threads pertaining to the specific product? What do you guys think?

I believe a separate section would be best. For newcomers, it would be easier to find. For everyone, the reviews would be less buried. Oh, and I would lock them. Any discussion that's related should be a separate post. Can't wait!!
