Hoping these new towers have a size under 100cm or 40" .... limited space for me!

Yes, Motion 60. They showed a prototype at CES, and I may know a guy who may have some direct insight into the MARLO inner circle, or something like that

Ahh, now I see it. Looks like it has an enlarged AMT. Intriguing.

Curious if they forgot to say something about the new speakers on the podcast or if they are on the back burner? Dan, Lonnie?

Well, Pop - It's like the XMC-1: Things get here when they get here. Need something sooner? Go elsewhere. I'm sure that Emotiva's trying mightily to get things to market, but the vagaries of design and manufacturing are complicated. The products will eventually arrive. I'd rather wait for the debugged product rather than have to return defects.
My belief is that Emotiva DOES intend to be a "full service" audio vendor. They want products (and highly competitive ones) in every category. But, needless to say, they're shooting at continuously moving targets. To date, their hit-to-miss ratio is very good. I'm sure they want to continue that trend.
The cost to us, the consumers, is that things don't always arrive as soon as we'd like for them to. That's life.
Hopefully, Dan or Lonnie will buzz us again about their speakers. If so, then they've stirred the anthill again. If not, then we've just got to be patient (or pick something else in the meantime).
Please don't interpret this as being snide or condescending - it isn't at all intended in that way. I jumped on poor Mr. Laufman quite a while back for missing an announced shipping date. I now regret doing it, but the Emotiva policy changed to "best not to predict shipping dates until we're SURE." It can be frustrating, but I think it's for the best. It keeps us from getting riled if a date is missed and it lets the Emotiva employees sleep better at night knowing that the customers aren't waiting at the gates with pitchforks and flaming torches.
I'm watching for the speakers myself, so if we get another "teaser," I'm perfectly content. If not, the same.

I am tired of seeing this slogan regarding Emotiva: "need something sooner? Go elsewhere" I HIGHLY doubt this is their new business model. If this was their intent, why would they speak of computer media products on this podcast? When Dan spoke of exciting new products I figured he would address the speakers. Maybe he just forgot?
The speakers are nothing like the XMC. The only date I am looking for is an UPdate. A teaser would be nice, or just some sort of mention. Last we heard from Andrew was something along the lines of "speakers aren't all that difficult to make, maybe a few months"
If they aren't available when I decide to pull the trigger than so be it.
I have no pitchforks or flaming torches, just curiosity.

When I look at the number of new products they put out with the resources they have, I am amazed.
Looking forward to the new speakers.

I am tired of seeing this slogan regarding Emotiva: "need something sooner? Go elsewhere" Well, I think it's both factual and fair. Most people don't care to wait. When they need a product, they're ready to buy and buy then. The products on the market at that time are the available candidates and that's that. ...The only date I am looking for is an Update...I have no pitchforks or flaming torches, just curiosity. Agreed.

I'm still waiting. I've resigned myself to not being able to afford / justify what I really want, which is a fully active speaker with an AMT or other planar driver down into the midrange. Janszen wants in the $6500-$7500 range to make active zA1.1s (not the larger floorstanding 2.1s, which are more in the $11000 range). Adams are $7500-$10000. Also looked at the Unity Boulder, but it's in the $8000 range as well.
So I figure later this year I'll look at what Emotiva has to offer and read any reviews of the new ML Motion 60. Maybe also consider whatever Goldenear is in a similar $2500-$3000 range.
Ugh, guess I'd have to buy amplification too - bleh what a drag. Passive crossovers and cone midranges aren't my favorite.

Looking for a "largish" 3-way bookshelf. Something around 1.5-1.75 cubic feet (Made from 1.5" MDF), acoustic suspension, 10" kevlar or carbon fiber bass driver, 3" soft dome midrange and a nice ribbon tweeter to top it off. All wrapped in some nice real wood veneers.

An Emotiva passive floor-standing speaker series with the likes of Scanspeak mid / high drivers would be sweet!

Hey, you guys heard about the next iPod coming out? How about the next Shiit state of the art DAC? Me neither. Most other companies are not so transparent with their customers, so we hear about their products when they are further down the pipe generally. Their company, their policy, I am fine with that. But I also appreciate how Emotiva is more transparent about their product line. Honestly, I bet it causes them more than a little grief when some of us get our panties all in a wad and upset because, basically, we know too much and get anxious for the product before it is available. I try to enjoy the tease and the wait. But I salivate about upcoming or possible products and lament the discarded (high res music player anyone?) But some of us get, well, a little agitated with the info.
See XMC post, after post, after post. 8)

Sandy Gross--one of the original founders of Polk and DefTech-- has several products under the GoldenEar brand that seem to meet quite a few wish lists. 91db efficient--folded ribbon tweeter--and bass to 16hz for the big dog. I own the triton 2's. They are amazing speakers, but 16hz must be @ -12db because while authoritive @25hz it's almost nothing at 16hz

We can discuss and talk about new products that have been teased and mentioned, just no assaulting. No panties in a wad here. Don't wear 'em, I'm a bad girl.

Would anybody care to comment on the qualities of Emotiva's ribbon tweeters? OK, Pop, since you asked... I don't like them. They sound sweet & extended, but they have a homogenizing effect on the highs. This can be a blessing with bad recordings, but it takes the transients off the best recordings and rounds everything in their range off to "pretty good." Now "pretty good" can be a really good thing from time to time, but it isn't accurate. I'd rather have the unvarnished truth. I'm sure that loads of folks will (violently) disagree, but since you asked, the above is what I heard. Boomzilla
