BTW, the above image is NOT a CG mock up but a photo taken in-house.

Ask me no questions...then I can tell no lies. A taste of things to come. Where's my drool emoticon when I need it? VERY NICE. That's going to sell without a doubt. Reminds me of the magico look (take as a compliment). I'm just asking the air and not any person in particular. Active or passive?!? Also is that entire chassis the same as the front baffle or what?!

Correction: Emotiva does not make "Powered Speakers". They are "Active Monitors" and there is a difference between the two. I sure hope they never make any powered speakers because that is like going backwards and you may as well have a passive loudspeaker design.

Ask me no questions...then I can tell no lies. A taste of things to come. My heart seriously just skipped a few beats!!! I am almost in tears of joy over here. Thank you for the "taste" Big Dan. These types of previews are rare in the Emo camp these days, and I want you to know that they really are appreciated. I am trying to contain myself over here. The guy in the cubicle next to me heard me react when I saw the speaker pic and popped up to see what was going on. Where's my drool emoticon when I need it? VERY NICE. That's going to sell without a doubt. I'm just asking the air and not any person in particular. Active or passive?!? Passive. Thank you for the info, that is exactly what I wanted to hear!

That is quite attractive! And I am a huge fan of folded ribbons............(they might benefit (or not) from a vertical wave guide for dispersion purposes, like my big Swans F2.2F's use)

Nick you're asking questions. "Under the hood" the speaker will be made of wood, drivers and crossover parts, how's that for an answer?

All I want is a ribbon tweeter kit to retro-fit my ERTs. Not that I don't like the tweeter. I do. I'd just like to have that option. And that kit would probably fit on my ERM-1's. Anyone who's seen or owned the ERT's and ERM-1's know how close these two speakers are. I've said it before - the ERTs are a pair of ERM-1's grafted to a pair of 8" speakers. More or less. I like this idea. +1

WOW ...!!!!!! Andrew, are these going to be available before or after the XMC-1,.. ? I noticed the XRT 6.2 are no longer available on the website. Someone bought the last pair !!!. I am still waiting for my XRT 5.2, but I'll grab me a pair of these new speakers in a heart beat. Is there a sign up list?

What I'd like to buy from Emotiva is a three-way tower speaker. Following or similar specs please: 1. Bass to 25 Hz. with -3dB anechoic measurement & a large enough driver to make it authoritative (passive radiator(s) OK too) They'd do better to go with an onboard powered subwoofer, balanced to the rest of the system. A'la the Golden Ears. Less crossover loss and more amp power for the mid and tweeter. Edit: the built-in subs would not replace a free-standing sub. They need go down to only about 30-35 Hz, but cleanly. The outboard sub would continue to handle LFE and subsonics.
