Noticed a anthem tube pre on eBay. This was from back when it was the affordable division of Sonic Frontiers. I'll bet that this pre sounds great. My gut is that $499 is a bit much for this item, but I have no real data for that. At $350 I'd probably go for it.

Looks like the XPS-1 is out of stock for a while. Can anyone recommend a good alternative around $200? For a beginner setup, like Pro-Ject Carbon? Yaqin MS23B?

I I think the Bellari tube preamp is around that cost and gets good press.

KeithL,
Any chance you could give us a little update on this possible product?
Would very much like to know if it will be remote power on/off , volume and source selection, and if it is still in the works. Would be very interested in replacing my usp-1 if I can.
Please share a bit.

I can tell you that a tube preamp and at least one tube power amp are in the works... but I'm pretty much sworn to secrecy on any details. Keith,
Is your estimate of 4-6 months you gave us back in January or February still accurate? Or should we be expecting a few more months before the units are ready to go

I just hope they offer a nice 2-channel tube pre with a great phono section for analog dinosaurs like me. Conrad Johnson quality w/o the CJ price would be nice

I am going to be building an Audio Note kit pretty soon... that way I can custom-match the case to my tube amps.

I just wish I knew what moderately priced meant haha. It can mean very different things to different people especially when it comes to tubes as they are generally fairly expensive in the first place. Pure speculation on my part about what moderately priced means but here's my thought , with the XPR line being TOTL & most expensive emotiva gear then going by the XPR numbers "moderately priced " emotiva gear should be less expensive than top of the line emotiva products .
I personally find even the most expensive emotiva products to be moderately priced , you can spend as much or more when buying Crown pro amplifiers that look like crap .
Im also wondering when we can expect some information from Emotiva staff regarding the tube equipment , even if it's to tell us it's going to be another 6 to 12 months , bad news is preferable to no news at all , Emotiva staff , please tell us something regarding the tube line .

It has been 6 months since the last news on any timeline. Any news would be appreciated, as the wait is beginning to appear to be without end... From all of us waiting, please give us something

Glad I didn't wait - I picked up a Cary Audio SLP-03 back in February and I've been enjoying it nearly every day since. If I had waited until now expecting a product to arrive and still had no word on its release I'd be really upset.

The wait is killing me. Was searching US AudioMart and saw a ARC Ref2 and SP11. I wanted to pull the trigger but was hoping for some word on an Emo tube pre.

The ARC reference products are still killer high on the used market.
