This info probably isn't available but I thought I'd ask. I'm looking to buy a tube preamp within the next month (I'm narrowing the field down now) but I'm interested in seeing what Emotiva will offer. If we're going to see some products soon (within the next 4 to 6 months say) I'd be willing to wait and see what's coming. If products will be farther out than that or aren't coming at all, then I'll move on. Apologies if this is too sensitive a question to ask - I remember back when Emotiva was a MLS product; he was much more open with info on future equipment (of course, look at what happened there so maybe following his business model isn't the smartest thing to do ).

No timelines have been shared...so your guess is as good as anyone here.

Within the next 4 - 6 months: almost certainly several moderately priced tube products. Within the next month: probably none. This info probably isn't available but I thought I'd ask. I would have guessed later, but it's good to hear it's possibly so soon!

I wish there was more info on the tube stuff. I'm really wanting to get a tube pre and try it with my speakers. I've heard good sounds with tubes and speakers. I don't know how long I can hold out for the emo stuff. Update please if anyone has one.
Edit: Anyone know if upgrade cards are good for emo tube preamps?

Upgrade cards are good for home theater processors and possibly the new receiver. Not good for stereo equipment t.

Yeah I know, just trying to convince myself to hold out and see if maybe someone heard something since.

I just wish I knew what moderately priced meant haha. It can mean very different things to different people especially when it comes to tubes as they are generally fairly expensive in the first place.

Moderately priced units are money makers and they help with the image.... But I'd also like to see a top-notch tube preamp that would be an all-out assault on serious names in the tube game. Something that would compete with VTL, Octave etc. For something of that caliber I'd pay 1500 in a heartbeat.

Well it's been 3 and a half months since Keith has sent our hopes soaring. Hopefully we'll see some news within a few weeks. I'm still checking the news page twice a day for any updates tough

Do yourself a favor and check twice a month, not a day.
Think of it as the time to put more money away.

Or buy an Audio Research or BAT.

audiobill gives excellent advice. I've never heard BAT, but they have a good reputation. Audio Research is beyond reproach. Other options that I've read are good include Prima Luna, Rogue Audio, and Vincent.
Happy shopping!

Actually, the best values in very high end tube preamps are at tubes4hifi.com.
Superb build, parts and performance.
Check them out.
Also, Quicksilver Audio.

Well, things are getting tough here with the waiting game. Problem is I have a chance to buy a used Sonic Frontiers SFL-1 preamp, former Stereophile Class A (or B, depending) from two decades ago, checked out and with a year warranty, for less than $700. Reviews are fantastic and it will probably do what I want. I'm doubting Emotiva can beat the quality at a smaller price, and at this point I have no idea really what and when and for how much EmoGlass will be. The bird in the hand is chirping to me, while the one in the bush has laryngitis. There are, of course, more important things in life to worry about, but then why do so many people read this blog? Any wisdom from above to share?
