AU/NZ guys, it is time to stop stuffing around with bozo.
Check out ship2anywhere.com.au plug in a few box dimensions and see just how much we are being ripped off. Emo can prepare for int shipping using any courier.

Hi Guys Just checking the costs of shipping my wish lists (pair of the new XPA-1Ls ) to Canada and noticed at check-out.... duties and taxes are now payable at the receiving end, which is fine but does Bongo add a surprise brokerage fee like UPS or is that taken care of with the shipping arrangement with Emotiva?

I just checked a minute ago, rates are same as 2 weeks ago. Some of the worse rip off shipping rates I've seen in my life and ship stuff every day.
It works out to 148 shipping. That includes the "remote area" fee of $38.00. There's another $41 for duties and of course taxes for whatever your province is.
Comparison, I just shipped a guitar from LA to Newfoundland. Case and everything actually weighed a touch more then the amp from emotiva, and of course a guitar in a case/box is certainly larger. The guitar is valued at 2500.00. $80 including insurance to ship it and there was a $60 duty. Took two weeks to get here, UPS.
?!?!?!?!?

Come on Emotiva, address the issues, or we will start to think you don't care. I want to order an XMC-1, but am holding off until you sort out the international shipping.

I don't know....seems reasonable............. here's a screen shot a few minutes ago for shipping 2 XPA-1Ls, not too bad. boxed: 23" wide x 8.75" high x 24 1/2" deep Weight: 35 lbs (45 lbs boxed)each, so almost a hundred pounds. But again my question, is there a brokerage fee charged at the receiving end?

I have just ordered an XSP1 and felt it necessary to go through a re-shipper, although the price differential (USD$120 total, instead of Bongo's $230 + $120 sales tax) as much as anything else reflects the subsidy that US consumers get, since Emotiva reduced my shipping costs by delivering it to the re-shipper's central depot in USA for no charge (sincere thanks Emotiva).
But maybe this is the point - international customers are subsidizing the US market since we effectively are denied any warranty on the product (who is going to send a 2nd hand amp on a roundtrip back to the states at a total cost of about half the original product value?!!). I personally think there is a huge international market for these Emotiva products but it will not be realised without finding shipping solutions that are at least as generous as those enjoyed by domestic customers. Especially since the lack of a viable product warranty should translate into more generous shipping arrangements than local customers currently enjoy.
Just my thoughts...

This was what the European shipping/repair center should "fix". The European prices was said to include shipping inside europe, and coverage of shipping and repairs the first 5 years.. But the final decision was that Bongo was a better solution

Is there any way I can check where I am on the list and when 'the call' can be expected?

I'm not sure this is right - in my experience Emo have been very good with warranty (and other) issues with the hardware. The distance from my house to their base is not precisely their fault, but they'll work with local repairers if that's what it takes. What we truly miss out on is the 30-day return window, it's much more economical to sell it on the second-hand market than pay to send it back. I've never been happy with not having the return option AND subsidising US delivery at the same time (not sure if this is still the case with Bozo, but we're sure as hell subsidising someone!)

Is there any way I can check where I am on the list and when 'the call' can be expected? Now ordered. No Bongo. Tax will be added when it arrives in the UK, so can only estimate what that will be. Thanks again rogersch. I'm looking forward to it replacing my UMC-200, and that sounds terrific.

It seem like many compliants of Bongo's shipping. I live in Macau and would like to place an order of airmotiv 5s and some related cables. While go into Bongo check out status and they quoted me an unacceptable shipping cost almost 60% value of the products that I ordered. I had double check through Bongo site rough calculation either USPS but there were large difference. Bongo charge double price compare with some regular fowarders. Suddenly I realize thats why not much emo user and carrier around my area. Now I certainly rethink if I really need it or ODM speakers by QMS which I can get those easier by my side.

So I thought I'd take another look at the ERC-3 on holiday sale time...great price! But the $270 freight charge ....... Still no buying for me. And the Remote Area Fee is now up to $40 which is a joke as I'm 8 min drive from the GPO in a capital city.

ERC3 to Australia with Borderlinx would be AUD 143.4 DHL shipping + AUD 11.45 Insurance = AUD 154.85
Used them to get my DC1 to the UK and all went great.
