I was all ready and excited to try out Emotiva. Was going to start with a XPA 200, it was on sale too, even better. Added it to my cart and Bongo tells me $108 for shipping, another $40 bucks because I live in a "unique area" (Newfoundland Canada) which is the first time I've ever been charged extra for that, then of course duties/taxes which is expected. I ship things between myself and the USA for work every day. $150.00 for a 37lbs box is beyond absurd. Your competitor will sell me a 5 channel, near 60lbs, and only cost me $54 shipping +duties/tax. You guys got some thinking to do with this Bongo thing. Maybe get a warehouse to hold some stock in Ontario. SVS does this, and I just got a SVS sub shipped for FREE and its 100lbs. Whatever you decide, Bongo gotta go. Yep, thank god for warehouse sales and an E-Club membership.... almost levels the playing field for shipping and duties...... almost... an then we have the exchange rate. Having a central warehouse in Ontario or even BC would be a great idea though!

Thanks Ludi, Gary and Rob. I got through on the phone to International Sales after a couple of diversions within Emotiva, and quickly made an order. Quite painless, as I was already an E-Club member. All done, XSP-1 on its way! Rob your views on the product convinced me to pull the trigger, thanks also for your insights. Cheers, Grant Glad you got through Grant.... waiting on your you're impressions on the XSP thread once it arrives. Ps (Can't imagine why I've been listening to a lot more music of late?)

I got charged a remote area fee and I'm 5min drive from the centre of the capital city in my state. It's complete billshit this bongo crap. $350 for an item and double it to your door in Aust. That's about where it's at currently.

I sent an email asking for shipping quote
Got directed to their web page and bongo.
Web site was up/dwn for over a day, got frustrated, waited.
finally got things added to cart, but Bongo price was a complete rip off.
Contacted support and said shipping was un reasonable
All I got was crickets.
Everything just left a bad taste in my mouth, so I moved on.
If they change their online shipping methods, maybe I'll try again, maybe.

Emotiva, you really need to get a grip on this NOW, otherwise you will be getting a bad reputation internationally. I, for one don't want that to happen. Please listen to and respond to your customers.

Please listen to and respond to your customers. Yep, that's true. On a Dutch audio forum this is already the case. There are stories of people who didn't choose Emotiva but instead choose for another brand due to Bongo. Not only due to shipping costs but also problems in the ordering process on their website.

I went direct and was quoted the bongo prices also. Stated rising fuel costs were the reason for increased price. Total unfounded.

Hi Cathy Good news indeed for those of us abroad (UK for me), although when I've ordered things in the past, the sales teams have always been super helpful and have always sorted things out with a quick email exchange. Whilst on the international front, was the any more news on the proposed European warehouse? Thanks pete S Hi Pete, Shipping direct and using Bongo for our checkout saves our customers money in conversion, warehousing and fulfillment fees. Also, it would only serve the EU nations, so after searching and considering several solutions, this was the best for our customers by far . Pricing is awesome, hope you all check it out. Enjoy! Cathy, who started this thread, responded to a question about the European warehouse. Sadly no replies after that. Strange because nobody seems to be happy with the service and pricing! Maybe international customers are a niche?! By the way, the service department helped me a lot with the problems I had with my ERC-1 and 2 :-) Also the XMC was delivered with UPS. Regards from Norway

I ordered my product a couple days ago and it was shipped normal by UPS. I tried now, and to Norway it automatically chooses Bongo - It says 305 dollars in shipping for a XPA-5 I think a UPS quote some time ago said 220 dollars.. This forces you to let a reshipper do the freight

Hi, If you live in EU, I have a solution for you, I posted a comment few weeks ago. So EU-Members, why are you complaining about Bongo, high shipping costs, etc.? Would you like to buy a(n) XPA-7? No problem.

No problem. Norway isnt a member of EU.. A reshipper (Jetcarrier.com) will only take 80 dollars for the freight by boat - so it should be possibilities for Emotiva to make a better deal With another freight-company than Bongo..

"Norway isnt a member of EU.." My first sentence was: If you live in EU... In this case "you" doesn't mean you as "eirik84". You means: member of this forum. Sorry, if I have confused you. "A reshipper (Jetcarrier.com) will only take 80 dollars for the freight by boat" It means, you have another choice than Bongo.

I understood that you didnt mean just me Yes I have another Choice than bongo, but it would be much easier to just order from Emotiva =) But I have heard some rumors about loosing the 5 year warranty if you let a reshipper do the freight, but maybe that was just when ordering a XPA-7 og XPR-series wich is not supposed to be shipped overseas..

Liked the sale prices but didn't even bother after last bongo shipping quote. Fingers crossed that emotiva are looking at this, but the silence doesn't give much hope of change.

I can't imagine that would be the case, otherwise pick ups would be compromised. Next trip to the US I'm planning on bringing some gear back with me. No shipping involved, just luggage, with say an XPA-1 each, they make it under the allowance of 35 kgs. Just have to stop the boss buying too many clothes and shoes, damn shoes are heavy. Cheers Gary
