Did anyone in Australia ever buy a XPR-5? I see they wont ship this out of the USA. Is it ok for us 230/240V? I would like two of them.

A couple of guys got their XPR's before the "no international orders" decision. I've not heard of any since. No issues with 240 volt 50 hz. If I wanted one I'd simply organise my own freight as I have an account with an international shipper. The alternative would be to use a reshipper, which is what people do when ordering from companies that don't ship direct to Australia. Type "reship USA to Australia" into any search engine and you will find plenty of companies offering the service as it's quite popular. Cheers Gary

From our local forum Emotiva thread; XMC-1: US$1,999.00 - 40% = US$1,199.40 Freight: US$238.20 (that's to a guy in Tasmania) Total: US$1,437.60 At 93 cents exchange rate = A$1,545.00 + GST @ 10% A$154.50 = A$1700. Thanks Gary. I should of looked harder at the forums (or researched it myself). Nice speakers you have there by the way There's a dedicated Emotiva thread on DTVForum.com.au that a few of the local Emotiva owners frequent. I pop in once a week or so just to check on what's happening as it's not high traffic. Thanks, I like Edward's speakers, they are unbeatable value for money and he has very similar philosophies to Emotiva. I have written reviews on mine progressively, fronts surrounds and finally the centre for the DTVForum, their are (logically) in the "Reviews" section. I noticed your set up in your signature, nice. Cheers Gary

But this have to be a temporary problem.
Cathy said on the podcast in october/november 2013 that the European Warehouse soon was fully stocked and ready - so now nearly one year after the Warehouse must be opening VERY soon. Im pretty certain that Emotiva have said that the European prices will include shipping - the same way like it is in the US..

It is true that Emotiva has said this in the past but this doesn't mean it will really happen.....

It was also stated the the European warehouse is cancelled and will never happen. Bongo is the "alternative", according to Emotiva because this is a benefit for all international customers and not only the European ones...
The European warehouse did exist, but its inventory was emptied and then it was closed.

That must have been a big economical loss for Emotiva if thats true?

The problem still remains: Bongo's rates are high.

Hi Cathy Good news indeed for those of us abroad (UK for me), although when I've ordered things in the past, the sales teams have always been super helpful and have always sorted things out with a quick email exchange. Whilst on the international front, was the any more news on the proposed European warehouse? Thanks pete S Hi Pete, Shipping direct and using Bongo for our checkout saves our customers money in conversion, warehousing and fulfillment fees. Also, it would only serve the EU nations, so after searching and considering several solutions, this was the best for our customers by far . Pricing is awesome, hope you all check it out. Enjoy! This is the post from Cathy in this thread I meant. Seems pretty clear to me, Bongo is the solution offered instead of the warehouse... There were also some Sherbourn items sold from the European warehouse during the Sherbourn sale.

Thanks for the quote - I agree, it seems pretty Clear Its sad, because in the beginning Emotiva talked about a European repeair center, but it evolved to also being a Warehouse. So I Guess the European customers miss that, and still have to pay other repair-centers to fix amp-issues even whithin those 5 years of warranty. In Norway they charge you 200$ per hour

At the time I bought my UMC-200 the web-site 20% off offer had been extended to 7th August (I think) anyway it was extended to the day after I ordered. I also purchased an e-club membership prior to making the order, all in accordance with the web-site instructions.
I placed my order and was charged the full price, converted to £sterling with duty and VAT added. I queried the lack of discount and was told that you could not see the amount for about two weeks, when Bongo passed on the information.
I chased this after two weeks only to be told that the 10% discount finished at the end of July and they could not pay me the money, only put a credit on my account. So I only have half the discount promised and no recompense for the duty and VAT.
Guys, I know that the 20% discount was valid.
Sorry to put all this on the forum, but you have had plenty of time to sort this out.
I am very happy with the unit and want to buy other kit, but this needs sorting out.

Well, the good news has arrived: “Your XMC-1 is ready. Contact us now to place your order (your place in line expires 9/9/14)” I answered to save my spot on line until Dirac software to be ready. Meantime, I asked them to send me a shipping quote. ( XMC-1 is not available for now, so it is not possible to make a check freight quote to Puerto Rico) Also, just for curiosity, I did a check a freight Bongo's quote for the lowest price Emotiva product, 1/8" Stereo Male to 1/8" Stereo Male Cable: 1 MSM 1 meter 5.09 USD Country: Puerto Rico International Economy (9-10 days transit) 40.52 USD International Economy (5-7 days transit) 70.52 USD So: Ooooouch!! How much does it weight? I don’t know but may be no more than an almost similar 3ft monoprice compared product #9296 (just shipping cost): USPS 3-6 business: free. USPS Priority 2-3 days: 4.63 www.monoprice.com/Cart#shipping-addressSo I also think Bongo's shipping cost is too much and it is not a good deal for all “international customers” To be continue . . .

Seems Puerto Rico is even more expensive than Oz, not entirely sure how that's supposed to work.

The answer has come:
Thank you for your email. We will hold your name in place until Dirac is implemented and contact you again at that time.
Currently the shipping cost for the XMC-1 to Puerto Rico is $65.49, however you will need to receive a shipping quote at the time you place your purchase since the shipping rates fluctuate regularly. If you have any questions please let me know.
Thank you, Nick Kaumeyer Department Head of Sales Emotiva Audio Corporation
Now we are talking. That shipping cost is very, very fair, almost the same as the “old days” when Emotiva ship my Sherbourn trough UPS.
However, as Nick says, I will have to wait, to check at the real order time.
To be continue . . .

Maybe you should order some cables while you're at it.
I'm still waiting on someone from Aus to order one so I know how much I'll be up for.

Hi all. I am in Australia and thinking of buying the Fusion receiver. I want to know how the warranty etc works. If there was a problem with the unit would I have to pay a small fortune to get it shipped back to the US? Also will I need to buy a different power lead to work with our 240volt power here in Oz?

If there was a problem with the unit would I have to pay a small fortune to get it shipped back to the US? Also will I need to buy a different power lead to work with our 240volt power here in Oz? My experience (having had 10) has been that Emotiva gear is highly reliable and unlikely to need warranty. If it does, most work can be done locally via an Emotiva supplied circuit board swap. The plug on the cord is US spec, so needs to be swapped for a local plug or a complete cord. You can use a $big super duper audiophile power cord, a jug cord from Bunnings or a multitude of choices in between. Cheers Gary
