Alright boys and girls,
How many of you have opened your brand new Emotiva gear only to find cosmetic issues right off the hop???
Things such as dents, bent/poorly assembled cases and units that will rock back and forth all day because either the cases are tweaked or the feet are all different heights.
Post your experiences.

Didn't find any such issues. On the contrary the unit was packed beautifully in a sock (ala Oppo) and coddled in form-fitting foam molding. As always, YMMV...

I've bought eight Emotiva products and I haven't seen a single instance of any of the irregularities that was listed. Not that I believe that it doesn't happen. I'm looking forward to any stories that might pop up here. It's just that I also believe that Emotiva would be more interested in these stories than I am.

I've purchased 14 components from Emotiva over the years, ranging from DACs to amps to processors, and have never run into the QC issues you mention. Along with the gear, I've also purchased TONS of various analog and digital cables, speaker cables, and accessories from Emotiva. Again, no issues.

Not a single issue with UMC-200 and two power amps. Everything was well packed and in pristine condition.

Along with the gear, I've also purchased TONS of various analog and digital cables, speaker cables, and accessories from Emotiva. Again, no issues. Just to chime in... since this experience is similar to mine. I've purchased all the stuff below in my sig, since early Feb, having only drunk the Emotiva Kool-aid for this short time... but I'm catching up fast in getting to know the equipment.... and have returned a few items in the process... always an easy friendly process. The various threads here, have been a great decision support for me over these recent months... enlightening, entertaining, thanks! The only thing I've had a problem with are the X speaker cables, when using the banana plugs... the 3 part design is troublesome because some of mine have been loose and fallen apart, not easy to reassemble and then they fall apart again. In some cases I can resort to the spade, but the Maggies don't do spades, and tend to crush and distort banana plugs, tempting aggravation, if one does much moving around of equipment, etc... I think Magnepan could do better on their connectivity, but they seem to be stuck in their ways, for better or worse. Anyway, I'm giving Emotiva, 5 stars on QC from my experience and have all the confidence that they would correct any blips.

My volume dial on my USP-1 is very sloppy. Has quite a bit of movement in all directions. Functions perfectly though. Bit far away to worry about returning it when I received it.

QC Issues? Ummm let's see;... okay here are a couple:
Out of the box, my DC-1 couldn't turn on my coffee-maker on demand; secondly, my two XPA-1Ls can't seem to roast my steak right... My steak is always overcooked, although I happen to like them rare, fully differential, and completely balanced....
Apart from those two little quibbles, I have experienced no QC issues... Zero, Zilch, nada...
By the way, may I ask why you're asking?

I've purchased 15 Emotiva items and NEVER had a single quality issue. You only have 10 posts and you ask a question like this? I think you are a trouble making troll!

Okay, Nick... Thanks for the tip. This is being duly noted in my cooking formula and recipe book as we speak... I'm sure the trick would work, but if it doesn't< I could always ask Emo for a "rare steak" firmware update.

Not a single issue with UMC-200 and two power amps. Everything was well packed and in pristine condition. Mel Likewise. I did buy a pair of Airmotiv 6's on a "Secret Sale" and one of them had a short in the cable leading from the front-panel volume control to the IC board (some assembler dug a little too deep when stripping the jacket from that cable). Emotiva offered to replace or repair the unit, but I fixed it myself. Took about 10 minutes. Maybe the OP lives on the slopes of Mt Everest and his gear must be delivered by sherpas and pack goats.

Thanks for the input guys... rest assured I am no troll I just unpacked my 3 XPA-100's and UMC200 and found damage. The units were all packed perfectly, someone dropped the ball at the factory. The UMC will not sit flat on a flat surface... I assume its a matter of one of the feet being taller than the other 3 or perhaps a tweaked case. 2 of the XPA's have dents in their cases... the paint has cracked and chipped off. Oddly enough the third XPA is perfect. I just sent an email with photos to Emotiva and although I am sure they will correct the issue I wanted to see other peoples experiences.
