I thought this product was layed on ice because of no info at all. Is it on track and coming soon ?? There has been info. They have said they are working on it, but it is lower priority than other things that launch first. As to when it arrives...nobody knows except them. They will say when it is ready. My prediction? After they XMC upgrades and after the RMC is near final. Mark Is the price on 999 Usd they sayed on CES 2016 correct ? |

Maybe something better will come from something based on the Emersa design. Last I heard was they could not see releasing the processor without Atmos. The Emersa line of digital amplifiers are not made by Emotiva but I think I heard something in the current Podcast about those same digital amplifiers in the small monoblock PA-1 so there is hope.

The Emersa line of digital amplifiers are not made by Emotiva but I think I heard something in the current Podcast about those same digital amplifiers in the small monoblock PA-1 so there is hope. They only just got their Atmos/DTS-X code blessed for the RMC-1, so hang on folks. Once they get the RMC-1 out, they can get that Atmos/DTS-X part designed into the EMP-1. I think there is still too much $$ between the MC-700 and the next one up XMC-1, so since they pulled the EMP-1 to be able to add in the Atmos/DTS-X, it will fill the gap up to the XMC-1, and include the new audio. MC700 if you don't want object audio formats, EMP1 if you do and don't need the absolute top-end XMC and RMC perfections. |

It has been two and a half years since the Emersa line was introduced. Emotiva is not saying anything about it. This warrants being skeptical.

Seems logical to put it on the back burner when it was mentioned in the podcast that the same pcb decoder board was going into the XMC1 and RMC1 [ as intended from the start one being derived from the other ] As was said there working on the RMC1 24/7 and this satisfies 2 models that people are eager for - want solutions for now rather than later with a 1 off .. As you say they have already rethought the EMP1 once ; maybe a few more atmos dts-x outputs ? it is after all likely to have fewer pcb's in its design due to its 2ru? height . The other wrinkle is the XMC2 ; if that turns up before the EMP1 all bets are off  A well equipped EMP1 would appeal to many and would make it harder to choose ; not the least me  |

emotiva, my umc 200 is broken need a new piece of hardware. I wait impatiently for the emersa preamp. He should come this summer, where is it? No communication nothing?
Must give my money to another company?

Was planned replace the umc 200 with the emersa preamp. Now the umc is broken and need a fast replacement. I give for new a piece no money without atmos and dtsx.
I have been waiting since the announcement day, I planned my setup on emersa, I want dirac, i want a 1he unit...
I give emotiva one month for new infos...
Then I buy a marantz avr and mini dsp with dirac for the fronts (aktiv diy speaker) and subs, sorry emotiva

I gotta say I found the whole EMP-1 with Atmos a bit strange when the MC-700 misses out. As per Lonnie's post they "realised" that the EMP-1 needed Atmos but somehow the MC-700 doesn't? My view is the MC-700 needed Atmos just as much, if not more so being "full sized", but was signed off ready for production. The EMP-1 wasn't, so they could stop it in time. Now they have this conundrum, the more mainstream dimensioned (larger profile) processor doesn't have what it's desk top (smaller profile) brother processor does. Looks like an oooooops to me, hence the 20 months or so passing by with no product.

Because RMC-1 are the first priority and XMC-2 are delayed to next year and got the new codecs for DTS-X weeks ago i think maybe next summer 2018. We can see the Emersa processor first goal was before Christmas 2017 in CES2017 in January but as always with Emotiva delays are normal. And with Atmos and DTS X the price will increase as all there products have done last years and i think 1499 Usd as pricepoint |
