I've been taking a break because I was tired of all the hate. I checked in and found this. People whining about how speakers look, many of whom had no plan to buy?
OK then...don't like them, don't buy them.
Simple. Problem solved. And by the way, U have seen some very pricey speakers that were U-G-L-Y!
Price and looks do not go hand in hand.

Just to throw my .02 cents in the pot. I do plan on getting a pair of the bookshelf's to see if I like them enough to get the t1s. With that said I don't really care for the look of them. I personally like big, tall beefy speakers but those seem to be out of my price range at the moment And from all the positive reviews from their powered speakers I'm sure these will be well worth the investment. As far as the color goes I don't really care as for it can always be changed.

Everyone should know by now that Emotiva builds equipment that is always a superb value. I think once the reviews come out we will find these will probably be compared to speakers costing double or triple the cost and probably keep up. In fact, I was amazed how cheap the are selling the T1s for. I own two pairs of the Airmotiv 5s and everyone of my friends that listen to them love them.
I would say based on this alone I bet they will sound great. At this price I don't think you can go wrong in trying them. If you don't like them then return them ! I am one that believes in form follows function so I really don't care to much how they look like as long as they sound good.
This is my 2 cents
And by the way, I am an Emotiva fan and glad to be. I have really enjoyed all the products that I have ever bought from them.
I was looking at the Salk Veracity STs but they are quite expensive. I may give the T1s a try just based on the price alone.

Also we woudl know that they would likely be able to output quite a bit of volume and dynamics being that their range overall tends to be geared to home theater or high power amplification. |

I am sure based on past business practices Emotiva has considered strongly their price points and limited the competition. Bang for the buck has always been Emotiva's business model and I cannot picture that changing.

They're some of the ugliest speakers I've seen pics of.. but Dan says they're awesome. So anyone who disagrees must be crazy. Way to hit another home run Emo. Keep up the great work. And I DID have plans to buy some of the new passive bookshelf speakers. But... Oh well they don't like canadian dollars anyway. Hey fattykid, What's the beef? You don't even own any Emo gear... why all of the negativity? If you don't like them, don't buy them. It appears all of your speakers are home brew, so you can't be that picky about looks... BTW, I love Canadian dollars!  Peace. Hmm - I would have expected a classier response from the CEO of an audio company. Ripping the guy's home made speakers that he is quite proud of is the low road IMO. I don't expect you'll ever look up his build thread over on AVS but if you did you might not have said what you did in such a disrespectful manner. |
