You guys tend to have a lot of flooding lately, so maybe he was right only that his garage was flooded? Okay, tell that to your service advisor. No need, no flooding here.

This place is impossible, I wasn't talking of one particular post but many, I myself don't hate or worship any one manufacturer but after seeing some posts get annihilated by Emotiva extremists I can see how some get frustrated and then resort to getting a little nasty. BTW, those subs look incredible. Well thanks, oh and btw the color i finished them in is Carbon and not plain old black hahahahaha

Allright, I give in!! Black speakers are beautiful!! Does this mean I can close/lock this thread and we can move on to so many other important disagreements? Why? Is there something more important to argue about? How about power cords?

Power cords it is then and I'll start! I replaced my XPR power cords this evening with 18awg clear silver lamp cord(because it looks cooler than the stock 12awg), and the highs in my speakers are now more burnt and crispy sounding. The 12awg power cords could never obtain those highs, so I've decided to stick with the fire hazardous 18awg lamp cord, and no one can or could ever convince me to go back to the muddy sounding stock power cords.

I'll bet they would sound even better had you painted them black!

How about power cords? Do they come in natural cherry?

How about power cords? Do they come in natural cherry? Per "@roryb " The cabinets of the Airmotiv speakers are vinyl-wrapped, but the baffles are 1" thick and painted. There would be nothing stopping anyone from masking the vinyl section of the cabinet, removing the functional pieces, and painting the baffle in a custom color and sheen. I myself have considered painting a pair in gloss white, for an Imperial Stormtrooper-esque look. So yes all you would need to do is mask the clear wrapping, remove the functional wire pieces, then paint/vinyl wrap the lamp cord. Problem solved natural cherry lamp cord for your beautiful amps.

Problem solved natural cherry lamp cord for your beautiful amps. Sounds like an excellent solution, it should probably be documented in the DIY section. Now to research the sonic properties of vinyl wraped power chords vs enamel, latex, or something vintage like nitro cellulose lacquer. I'd apologize about going off topic, but the OP took us here so I guess it's ok?

Hello....
Well it looks like the time has almost arrived. Been waiting for these speakers! I'm running a XMC-1 and XPA-5. Down to the question. I'm still using my Definitive Tecknology BP2000s and matching center and surronds. Purchased new in 1996-97. This is one of their super tower series. They still rock!
How do you think the new passive Emotiva speakers will compair? Should I sell while they work well? If so how do ya put a price on them?

If I remember correctly the BP2000's are the original bipolar with built in subs by deftech. I continue to love mine, I also have middle and surrounds (check sig). I would keep them to compare and keep the ones you love. Send back, gift, sale, or use the other ones.

I think we've just about covered the whole gambit here and all I have to say is wow! You guys never cease to amaze me. I currently own three products from Emotiva, soon there will be a couple more. Of the three products I've purchased from Emotiva one after a year was in need of repair. I contacted Emotiva shipped the unit back they repaired it free of charge and shipped the unit back to me free of charge. The other two pieces of equipment have been flawless. I'm quite satisfied. In my opinion their efforts go above and beyond to assure customers are happy with their equipment.
Now if that makes me a fan boy well yea, absolutely, I love a company that builds quality equipment at affordable prices, and also stands behind their products. So you can feel free to get mad at me, and even curse me if you feel the need, because I may from time to time disagree with your opinion of what you think Emotiva should or should not do, or manufacture, or sell, or whatever else for that matter. This is a forum it lives through us. I'm glad it's here the good the bad and the ugly. And I don't care what you say I'm buying a pair of those speakers. I can't wait.

By the way, the reason we abandoned the "curvy" sleek look of the original concepts is that they looked like EVERY other speaker on the market these days. It's an overused and tired design theme. We went with the Airmotiv design language because we have thousands of happy Airmotiv customers and many, many, of them have asked for home versions of these speakers with grills. And lot's of people like the look. So, this is the direction we decide to go in. We are not a curvy company. And for the record, the new high end reference series will not be curvy either. Think Stealth on steroids. So, there! looking forward to it. tchaik………….

We are working on a very high performance series, and it will have finish options. Of course, they will be priced accordingly. Not meaning to rehash this old'ish thread, but any more news on Emotiva's "high performance series" of loudspeakers? Considering the performance/value of the current line of speakers, I'm excited to see what Emotiva's idea of a high performance line would be!

I've had my T1's about a month now, and have listened to them for a total of about forty hours. Thanks to some great advice from Emotiva staff and fellow forum members regarding set-up options and just plain patience, the T1's have opened up. I just sold a a pair of KEF towers that were nearly four times the price of the T1's. Everyone commented on how great looking the KEF's were. I, too, appreciate a good looking piece of furniture; but it may boil down to a Ginger vs. Marianne question. The shape and color of the T1's may not be a crowd pleaser, but when folks get a chance to hear a pair, they may come to find they're best appreciated laid back with eyes closed.

Hi Wharfrat,
I too am enjoying the T1's. I was wondering if the treble got a bit too bright when played at high volumes? Anyway great speaker for the money. Happy Listening! Howie
