Nobody is shunned or ridiculed for simply disagreeing. Different and opposing opinions are fine but vitriol is not. Of course, being Emotiva's lounge, we have a lot of people that have Emo gear. But most also have other equipment too. And plenty of people disagree with Emotiva staff and each other but they do so in a civil manner. While I agree that a 'thumbs down' button would be great, proboards would have to provide that feature. In the meantime, there are ways to disagree without getting nasty. Below are some examples: - -1 Just like how people post +1, they can post a -1 when they disagree
- I beg to differ
- You have your opinion, I have mine
- Let's agree to disagree
So while we wait for proboards to provide a 'thumbs down' we can disagree. - 1......hahaha. Just kidding Hemster! Definitely a friendly atmosphere in this forum Hemster, which is why I frequent it daily even though I am not really in need of (nor have any room left for...) new gear. On the other hand, the news sites are horrible. All kinds of race baiting and insults flying and so on. I am glad we in here at least act civilized most of the time. I have made a lot of friends and I find support in this forum in any time of need. Thanks to everyone who tries to keep things civil! Tim +1

They are some nice looking speakers in my book. They seem to be a good build, the crossover is nice. I don't see what the fuss is about the build look?.The price is very competitive on them.5 year warranty, I went look at the rest they seem as a nice surround set for sure for, good specs, 40 lbs each, as for the color of them black veneer look has been around for a very long time and it goes with just about everything. ...P.S...whats up with the posting?..I have to keep going back to edit, I post and then go back and re-read and some of the word are like ..as to..to or spelled wrong?...or is it that dam auto correct?...lol..

I just came back here too, and am amazed at the thoughts here. I think the Airmotiv speakers are right on to generate this much interest. I can't wait to hear them. I love the Airmotiv 6S already. The Towers are my highest interest point for the listen. But I think many of these Airmotiv speakers will win the hearts over anyone looking for amazing value, performance, and versatility. You know, the good stuff that is Emotiva.

Not sure anyone myself included has stated that the speakers were not of good value or wouldn't sound good. I just stated the angles make it look cheap and are ugly to me. Now I could probably live with the angles on the top front of the speaker; however, the angles below the midrange driver makes it look like they mounted an Airmotiv bookshelf speaker to a base with more drivers like another member described earlier. Now Emotiva may still be able to salvage it if they redesign the speaker grill to cover up the angles below so that only the top angles are visible. That would be more pleasing visually. I wish I new how to photo shop it to show the speaker with only the top angles. I think that would work okay for me and maybe others.

I saw them at Emotiva and think they look even better in person than the photos. You lose the 3 dimensionality in the 2d photos. They have more of a sculptured appearance in person.

Fair enough, I generally perceive you as the Emo Protective Service; however, your post was the best contrary description as to why they may actually look better than they are in person. Thank you for that and by the way the EPS comment wasn't a put down it was a description. Thanks Geebo

You know, the good stuff that is Emotiva. You know I certainly agree that these will be fine performers, all the Emotiva speakers have been. I hoped for something a little higher end that might work well with my XPR amps and now that Dan has spilled the beans and said there is another higher level speaker in the pipeline - I'm encouraged and eager to see what they are. As far as black goes, what can I say? I love the beauty of wood and wood grains and have always searched out that in speakers, furniture, flooring and even guitars. I saw a pair of Revel 208's in cherry not too long ago and I thought they were stunning. It's just what I like.

Then all hell is lose because almighty you may not criticise Emotiva! What's wrong with you people?
FTR, although not stated in my profile I own products from Emotiva including EMC-1, XPA-1 G2 and many more.

And one on earth happened to the "Client is always right"? Not that the above is always true but not listening to customers or potential customers is being on the path to downfall.
Furthermore, isn't this being a US dominated forum, what ever happened to freedom of speech? You don't have to agree with all posts, but come on, just state that that you disagree, It's not a fecking cult, is it?

Well, "freedom of speech" doesn't apply to private property, including these forums. They can set their rules however they want, and as anyone who's had to work with customers, current or potential, they are NOT always right As for cults... Emotiva surely has a dedicated following, maybe even bordering on being "cultish" and I'm one of them. Fantastic gear, regardless of the price. Peace Out! <mic drop>

Maybe something was lost in the translation? Try closing your eyes and taking several deep breaths.

Or how come you missed this part "Not that it a true but not listening to customers or potential customers is being on the path to downfall."? I do not think that Emotiva is "not listening to customers." Dan posted in this very thread the reasons why the new speakers come in black only, and did so in a polite and understandable way. I believe Emotiva does listen to their customers but ultimately, the owner(s) of a company are the ones who have their dollars on the line and have to make the hard decisions as far as company direction. If they listened to everyone who had an opinion, they'd never get anything done. Sure, feedback is important but the customers aren't the ones who stand to lose the most if the product line is not successful. All too often people speak from the perspective of their own tastes and wonder gee whiz why can't they company just do as I say? Can't they see that??? And the thing is, you have people with opposing views/tastes wondering the same thing. We've all had our opportunities to put in our two cents, both now and back when the speakers were still being designed. But as I said, while I think Dan values those opinions, in the end he has to do what makes sense to him and what he feels will bring the most success according to HIS definition of what success is. And I think we would all agree it is not the criticism of the speakers that was the problem in this thread, it was the manner in which that criticism was presented. Like fattykid, for example. He was just downright rude and insulting and that was totally inappropriate whether it was being said to the CEO of a company or some joe on the street. The OP didn't like the speakers and I have nothing but respect for him and his opinions. Even if I hated the speakers, I still would say fattykid's remarks were rude and uncalled for. I have no respect for that.

What's the point if you're not allowed to express your opinion unless it just praises Emotiva? Nobody benefits from contractive criticism being allowed, especially not Emotiva. So if someone says, I'd hope they the new speakers would have come in another colour, why on earth does anyone have to go on long rant about it? If you disagree fine, just state that. After all, if this forum was just meant to be for Emotiva to publish information, did why give us the possibility to post at all?

"Not that it a true..."? Maybe something was lost in the translation? And my response was a humorous one. I work at a new car dealership service department and I've heard it all.. Your example would have been quite appropriate. But he said this: "They're some of the ugliest speakers I've seen pics of.. but Dan says they're awesome. So anyone who disagrees must be crazy."
"And all the fans came in response to gulp and gag like they always do once the el presidente states that he is in the right... You're the one who is pathetic."
"I have my opinions of you and the way you run your company, I don't need to make them more public than I have in the past.
See the difference?

I have no respect for that. I tend to agree with you but the thread got to that point because many persons were not open to any criticism of Emotiva products at all. I found that there were some people that were way more of line that fattykid, not meaning he was in order.

See the difference? Then again you take things out of context. I never said he was right did I? This exactly what I meant. Guess that what happens....

These are on my short list.
