Let me say something about bass on speakers. There are some that like a Boom sound and some that do not.

Philharmonic audio makes several units with RAAL tweeters on them. Very reasonably priced. (Still $$ of course). philharmonicaudio.com/Dennis Murphy designed the crossovers for Jim Salk and his Salk speakers before he started Philharmonic Audio. They both use the RAAL ribbon tweeters in there speakers. Not sure that they would pay the prices I see on Madisound Speaker for them and there are many models that cost different so I posted the high side price. If you search all the speakers that use them and there price, it appears to be reflected in the price. I priced the Philharmonic speakers with them when they first came out and just as Salk speakers have gone up in price so has Philharmonic. I would buy both Philharmonic and Salk sound unheard just based on the reviews I have read and the popularity of them would be the reason the price has increased on both. www.salksound.com/home.phpThe price of $6495 per pair for the Salk Veracity HT3 was $3400 when they first came out years ago. This is the speaker I would like to have right now. www.salksound.com/model.php?model=Veracity+HT3 Also, Ascend Acoustics sells speakers that utilize the RAAL tweeter also: www.ascendacoustics.com/

(maybe we should start a poll) You know what I'm saying. Boom like a whole lot of bass that was not actually recorded in the song but sounds cool to me Boom sound. Oh, and I listen to enough music to know that very little of my rock and roll goes Boom.

Let me say something about bass on speakers. There are some that like a Boom sound and some that do not. Put me squarely in the "I do not" column please. That's what's so hard about it, to get good, smooth, and deep bass, one needs to shell out the $$ Also the reason why I did the - 1-2dB on the 125Hz range recently...

There is no replacement for displacement. This indeed does require you to purchase these items and they can indeed be expensive. I see that you build your own. Build some !

Judging from the other (T1 review) thread, and knowing tight-knit communities like this one, also the fact of human nature that 'questionable news travels faster than good'.. I owe an apology to this group of enthusiasts it would seem..
Look, just because I'm one guy who had unrealistic expectations for my first commercial set of speakers does NOT mean that I wished to discourage ANYONE from getting (and probably loving) the T1.
There are so many factors involved with decisions here: psychoacoustics, switching from something you know, DIY time and energy, listening environment, etc. etc.
So, my apologies.. ..and if my (very limited) review has you apprehensive about the T1s, please, for your potential enjoyment, don't let it...
I just felt this necessary to state. (..and no, no-one is paying me..lol..)
Cheers

@ Chuckie: Great post, and thanks.. Looks like this guy (me) is ordering a pair of Rythmik Audio DS1200 CI kits, and will be building them as soon as I get the parts. Expensive? Yep. .. but I like the servo feedback tech involved with these, and from all user (and otherwise) reviews, it would seem these are exceptionally accurate , especially for music reproduction.
Thanks again.. :^}

There is a very nice guy and Lounge member who built himself a Rythmik 15" sub(s) from the driver kits. etc. He is a superb woodworker and the photos looked great. Member Darksky might be willing to offer some advice if you send him a PM. I know he spent lots of time on the phone with Brian (owner) and Enrico. Have fun and be sure to show us the finished product in time. I don't think Darksky will mind if I post a photo of his sub. IMO, this is the work of a real artist!

@ Chuckie, Thanks! Awesome looking indeed! Read the whole build thread. Love this quote: That pushed me right over the edge, just what I'm looking for, and since my room is smallish, two 12s will be perfect, just the ticket.
DIY land, here I come again... sigh..lol..
