@keithl. Can you confirm that the DC-2 has a trigger port? Txs

I am extremely intrigued about the DC-2 and will likely upgrade from my DC-1. I like the dedicated sub output as this is something I currently run as full spectrum using the sub's LF cutoff frequency (not ideal). Switchable filters will be the icing on the cake.
I also hope it runs a little cooler than the DC-1 but this is not a deal-breaker for me.

Any info on the standalone balanced headphone amp that's supposed to be paired with the DC-2? No interest in the DC-2 but the headphone amp I'd consider pairing with my DC-1. Shoulda offered crossover options for the DC-2. High pass filters would have made this thing really enticing to a lot of people. WHAT IS THIS ABOUT A BALANCED HEADPHONE AMP?!? This is news to me!

Sorry for the late reply, but it's been mentioned in a few places including the Podcast. Look at the DC-2 section in the Emofest Thread. The headphone section in the DC-2 will be weaker, but a standalone headphone amp is being made. Imo it should be $299 max to undercut the Schiit Jotunheim but hey what do I know? Exciting mention on the DC-2 I picked up rescanning the thread: BASS MGMT Update directly from Big Dan: "A switchable 2 pole High Pass filter can be applied to the L & R outputs of the DC-2. The mixed mono "Subwoofer Output" is FULL RANGE. We expect the low pass filter in the subwoofer to do this duty. You'll adjust the sub level on the subwoofer's amplifier to balance relative sub/satt levels. Simple, flexible and sweet!" Now THIS they have to shout from the rooftops. Honestly a gamechanger for compact, simple, and *good* desktop audio imo. Heck this thing would be fine at a desk, in a room, anywhere. Throw up some room treatments and you have a great setup without absolutely needing DSP. A DC-2, a pair of Neumann KH120, a Rythmik LVR12, and you have a killer setup for $2650 not counting the used market I'm so fond of.

Is there any timeline available (or other info) about the supposed standalone headphone amp?

All I can say right now is there is one in the works. Without giving away what I'm working on, I am curious as to what features or things you guys would like to see on it. I just want to make sure that what we are building falls in line with what our customers want. So here is your chance. Tell me what you want to see in it. Lonnie Sub out... running relatively small powered monitors I would buy the new Stealth DC-1 if it had an output for a sub. I've never used the analog inputs, but do use the usb from my mackbook and optical from my gaming console. Please add a sub out.

PS: Since the world is mostly digital now ( despite the current, but temporary vinyl resurgence) and since the major audio companies (including Emotiva) now offer outboard phono sections, I'd be just as happy to see the phono section of the "new XSP-1" go away and have the preamp become a line-stage only. But I'm aware that I may be in a minority on this one. My guess is that vinyl is here to stay. In my area it's easier to find the album on vinyl over CD. Even my 17 year old says vinyl is the best and cassette is next. He has all his music on each type of media and always seems to play vinyl; except in the car. This comes from a kid who at ten said all he would ever need is his MP3 iPod player - afterall, it sounded great, Vinyl - its all about the inconvenience, Analog Man Lives.

If we are going to do subs, what's the harm with stereo sub outputs? That would be very nice imo.

... Look at the DC-2 section in the Emofest Thread. The headphone section in the DC-2 will be weaker, but a standalone headphone amp is being made.... And yet the press announcement includes this sentence: "Also featured is a new current feedback design headphone drive stage with increased output for an endlessly satisfying personal audio experience." So... I remember the original announcement about having a weaker headphone section which put a frowny face on my face, but then I read the Jan. 8, 2018 press release. So which is it? I've got Sennheiser HD-800's, high impedance cans.

The DC-1 was already highly regarded by headphone community so it makes sense to me that they'd improve the headphone section, like the BasX A-100. That's not to say they very well could be working on a standalone headphone amp too... **the Instagram post says otherwise too: "added some highly desired features on this new product like a great headphone amp and Subwoofer output!"

Has anyone here compared the DC-1 or XDA-2 to the TA-100 as far as DAC goes?
I would love to hear your thoughts. Thanks

Hi teaman - Um, yep - garbulky has owned all except the TA-100 (and he heard mine in his system). My rankings would be Stealth in the lead (by a fair margin), and a tie for second between the XDA-2 and the TA-100. I liked the DAC in the TA-100 more than garbulky did, though, so his rankings may be different. All three DACs are handicapped (and significantly) by the lack of bass management. The DC-2 is supposed to have an 80-Hz high-pass filter that can be engaged with full-range sub outputs (apply low-pass filtering, phase matching, and volume matching at the sub's plate amp). This alone makes the DC2 far superior (in features) to any of the three DACs previously mentioned.
