I came across this Crestron line of amps, preamps, processors, etc. They remind me a lot of the Sherbourn monster amps. Look at the power Two models with your choice of 250 or 400 wpc x 7 with this amp www.crestron.com/products/model/PROAMP Also a 7.3 Processor which seems to offer quite a bit. www.crestron.com/products/model/PSPHDOr a more basic 7.1 processor www.crestron.com/products/model/HD-XSPAThey also offer a commercial line of amps www.crestron.com/products/audio/amplifiers/commercial-amplifiersEven a 4k 7.1 receiver www.crestron.com/products/model/HD-XSPAThen there is a 100 wpc x 7 A/V receiver www.crestron.com/products/model/AMSThere are several units listed on Ebay too, pretty intriguing. I have to do more homework on these options before I ever pull the plug. The Integrated surround sound processor and amplifier offers Audyssey MultEQ XT advanced automatic equalization. High-definition analog and HDMI/DVI digital video switching. Advanced video image processing. Audio distribution for 4 to 6 rooms, expandable up to 24. Choice of 12-button room keypads or APAD LCD controllers. Plug-and-play support for Adagio Audio Server and iPod interface1. Accepts up to three dual radio tuner cards for XM2 and SIRIUS®3 Satellite Radio, and AM/FM radio with RDS/RBDS (1 tuner card included). Set up via front panel or software. 2-Series Ethernet control system — programmable to support Crestron touch panels, wireless remotes, lighting dimmers, thermostats, and much more! With this many choices on the table I cannot imagine that Emotiva could not also offer similar products. Tim

Power takes.......power. One of the amps above, takes 2x dedicated 15 amp circuits.
As for the rest of it?

For the average buyer, AM/FM capability is academic. Throw in a 10-cent receiver chip or not - the majority of consumers don't care. Me, I'd be happier with a big-boy Emotiva integrated amplifier.
But my personal preferences don't Emotiva-decisions make. Emotiva will manufacture whatever they think will SELL. Works for me.

I wish FM hadn't been ruined by 'chain' broadcasters. Everything is canned and compressed and flat sounding.
Boom? If you were asked which you'd prefer would it be? 1. FM section. many presets and all that 2. Network connectivity so you could get any of your internet radio providers streamed thru your home system.

I'm picking up an Outlaw Audio RR2160 this Wednesday. 110w/ch, HD radio, dual sub outs, pre outs for another amp, 4 selectable bass xover, lighted remote, internet radio, USB for hi Rez audio... and a cool retro look. What do you think Big Dan? Just a stereo receiver.🙂

RR2150 gets bang-up reviewss and has been in production at 2 different plants for over a decade. The '60? Meaningful updates and upgrades without losing the flavor of the original. IMO, most people screwing around with HT would probably be better served by good 2-ch.

I'd like to see a receiver that competes with the likes of an AudioControl Concert or Arcam FMJ (or an updated version of my Sherbourn SR-8100.) Every time I think about splurging on separates I end up buying a receiver. From a business standpoint, if there aren't enough people like me to justify it then I understand. I'm in the market right now and I keep swaying towards AudioControl or Arcam.

First? For Mr. Quickness: You are targeting HT receivers, which IMO are obsolete the week after they are made. Huge techno-churn makes that happen. Me? I'd get a good set of amplifiers and speakers and update / upgrade the 'brains' of the outfit.
And for Garbulky? I get it. But at the same time, when doing non-critical stuff, like housework or such, I find a good music stream to be a good way to go. I would listen to Sirius XM Jazz feed in one flavor or another. Vintage rock, too.
Should EMO make a HT receiver? NO Should EMO make a GOOD stereo receiver? YES EDIT: I'll add that 'good' for a stereo receiver included some stuff NOT included with old Marantz or whatever. Good multi-input DAC section Bass Management HD FM Section MM / MC phono inputs with some adjustability (impedance / capacitance) Preout / Main in provisions Parametric Tone Controls Probably OTHER stuff, too,
