Years ago ( early 2000's edit: no mid 1990's maybe) I almost bought an isobaric car subwoofer by Polk Audio, the C 4. It was a tear drop shaped flat bottom cabinet, sealed except for two port tubes. Inside were four 6x9 speakers two pair each facing one another working isobaric, it was a great sub design for a car, always wished I had bought it.

My uncle used these for years before he moved them to his living room for his TV since he now uses the Apogee duetta signature II's for his main stereo. If your uncle ever wants to get rid of them please let me know. Russ

OK, I give. Is that a forced air vent system mounted to the clear plastic covers on the AR amps?

OK, I give. Is that a forced air vent system mounted to the clear plastic covers on the AR amps? Yes they are vent hoods and they both duct to the side wall where he has a low noise fan sucking the hot air from those amps and blowing into the adjacent room. Otherwise it gets too hot in his room. Right now with it being winter the room stays around 75 degrees with it being in the 20's outside with NO heating going into the room. He uses the ref 100 and the Krell fpb 350 in the summer and the ref 609 in the winter... pretty bad he has to do that lol

I'd show you the amp-stand drawings I made in Sketchup.
He needs to include an air intake FILTER or he's just moving room dust into the amps.

I promise you there is zero dust in all of his equipment. He keeps his room clean, and his equipment clean. He has certified test equipment he also uses and some kind of high powered microscope for aligning the needle on his cartridge. He spends more time attending to his equipment than he does anything. But he will listen for 8+ hours at a time. He's had those amps and his krell amps for over 15 years and they look brand new not a single mark on anything. If you were to manage to get back there and look you could use a white glove on everything and not catch a drop of dust.
