I'd like to see Emotiva devote resources to an "mid level" processor somewhere between the MC-700 and XMC-1. Welcome to the party, I've been suggesting/asking/requesting exactly that for over 3 years, except is was originally for something between the UMC-200 and the XMC-1. Much like what was suggested a year and half ago with the "XMC-1L" thread ................ emotivalounge.proboards.com/thread/48058/new-xmc-based-processor The XMC-1 is more than 4 times the price of the MC-700, surely with ~$US1900 between them there's more than enough room to fit in a "mid level" processor. Of course with distributor and retailer margins bumping it, the price gap here in Australia is almost double that, so even more reason. Cheers Gary Mine sounds great! 😋

I don't get it either. Full speed ahead! If they do go direct, they had better make a lot of HDMI 2.2 boards for the Gen 2 and new processors. - Rich We have the choice of 2 quotes from Dan ; the xmc1 will continue as long as it sells and ; you will be surprised how quick the xmc1 gen3[xmc-2] will be released after the RMC1 [ or words to that effect].. I hope its the later ; everyone would love more than the 1 dirac preset ; so the XMC1 days may be numbered in any case .. Mark noted ;

Aren’t they on the back top left corner? 😁 You made me look twice Nick but hitting the zoom button it says 7.1 out Thinking getting rid of the unbalanced pre outs would bring it into line with the XMC gen3 and RMC1 which is a good move imho It may be a good template for the Emersa

I want 16 channel in our HT hence the RMC-1 is the way to get that.
Then I would like to upgrade our living room set (other place) to 7.1.4 and I reckon trading in our current XMC-1 for a new XMC-1 gen 3 makes a lot more sense than upgrading the current one. Especially if the transformation would mean sending it across the ocean and back. But even if it could be done locally, I'd still prefer the downscaled RMC-1 aka XMC-1 gen3.

@ goozoo - Like I said earlier, and earlier, and earlier, and after that, and again and again and again and over and over and over.

That the XMC-1 Version/Gen 2 may or may not be "sold out"? That the XMC-1 Version/Gen 3 may not be ready to put up on the web site? Simply put, which XMC-1 are they referring to? Cheers Gary

I much prefer naming the XMC-1 Gen 3 simply the XMC-2. Heck, I think even take the XMC-3, with implied -1 and Gen Maybe two is an unlucky number, as 4 is in Japan and 13 is in the U.S. - Rich

There is no such thing as an XMC-1 Gen 1. The point is still valid I wasn't referring to any point being valid, I simply was stating a fact so that those that aren't as familiar and aren't regulars on the Lounge don't take that there was a Gen 1 as factual. Nothing more, nothing less.

It was weird that the xmc-1 debuted as gen 2. That got confusing

Nothing more, nothing less. Which version had the single 4k input/output? It sounds like you're referring to the video board versions. V1 was the HDMI 1.4b, V2 was the one 4K input/output without HDR capability, and V3 is the upcoming HDMI 2.0/HDCP 2.2b/HDR/Dolby Vison on all inputs with two outputs.
