Yep, that's me. It was something new we tried out, a number of us over at AVS were going to the show, and Mark Henninger, the review-guru and editor at AVS Forum who normally attends these events, was unable to go so we crowd-sourced the show report from those of us attending. It wasn't without hiccups but it was a very fun and informative experience. This was probably the only show I'm going to be able to make this year so hopefully others can step up and do the same for RMAF, CAF, CEDIA, etc. |

Along with my post asking about other products from axpona. Along with my post asking what happened to my posts. Axpona was great...again! it was probably the best one out of the 3 I've been to. Last year it was pretty boring and that hotel in Rosemont was terrible. I hope they make the Renaissance Convention center the new home, it's a much better setup - way more room and free parking. Hopefully they won't have the dance thing though because that made parking a little tougher along with the food lines. I think you are good with the Anthem. It looks like it's very similar to the XMR-1 that I plan on getting. Don't worry about the mods here, they aren't neutral like normal mods but they are good people . |

I’ll take the XMR-1 with 200 wpc x 11 and preouts for the front 3 channels. If I want to hook up my XPR-2 to the main 2 channels and have the XMR-1 power the center, surrounds and Atmos channels. I may need to get something for the center as well. I’ll predict right here on 4/15/2018 that this is going to be the game changing product. Looking forward to fall/winter this year for its eminent release. I shared my enthusiasm in person with Lonnie and even took a picture with him lol. (maybe he will ask me to beta test haha) Oh contraire, I'll predict right here on 16/4/18 that it's one of, if not the, biggest flops that Emotiva have ever made.  I just don't see why anyone would buy a big hunk of high quality AVR from Emotiva when the processor part is going to be out of date (technically) between 2 and 3 years. Leaving a big chunk of dollars wasted on power amplifiers that are working perfectly but are rendered useless by what comes in front of them. It seemed to me like a dumb idea at the time it was announced and it still seems like a dumb idea now. It is not Emotiva that makes AVR’s that are bricks every 2-3 years... you have us confused with the rest of the AVR makers out there. The XMR-1 will be upgradable, just like our processors. Peace, Big Dan I'm most definitely up to speed Dan, but as someone who has been waiting for over 2 years for a 4K XMC-1 and a year for an Atmos/DTSX XMC-1 I guess it depends on how long the chain is on that boat anchor. As a result in that 2 years Iv'e had to cancel 2 trips to Franklin, so you have missed out on a least one bottle of Sullivan's Cove Single Malt (rated the best at the World Whisky Awards), I drank it to kill the disappointment. We are heading in the USA/Canada direction in July/August shall I pack the other bottle? Cheers Gary |

Cheers It's bit more of a complication for me, I have an XMC-1 in the US which can be sent to Emotiva when the Atmos/DTSX board is available for them to do its complex install process plus the simple install of the 4K board at the same time. Or I can get it sent to me and I can do the 4K board install myself and then get the Australian distributor to do the Atmos/DSX board install, that's if Emotiva have authorised them to do it (which they don't know right now). But wait there's more, as from 1st July we get charged 10% GST and a yet to be determined Customs handling fee on items under $1K, currently we get hit only on items over $1K. Since the 4K board and the Amtos/DTSX board added together won't be over $1K all will be OK as long as it's before 1st July. Of course there's more, I'll be in the US in July/August and I could bring it back in my luggage, so no freight, GST or Customs fees, meaning slightly more than half the airfare saved. Hence bribing Dan with Scotch. That's why it's kinda important to know when the Atmos/DTSX board is going to be available. Cheers Gary |

No way the Atmos board is available July/Aug. It's my understanding the Atmos board will be right after the RMC-1 is released and I am confident the RMC will be in my system by no later than June I'll wager that neither are available/shipping per Emo's website in those timeframes, if you'd like - PM me. However Tchaik is right, this is an Axpona thread. |
