I have been running v5.4 beta 2 for a few days now but still no luck with my syncing issue with comcast X1 set top box. No matter what I try, I cannot get video to pass through w/o power sequencing or switching inputs. Audio comes through, but no video. Any thoughts/suggestions on this issue is appreciated. I'd suggest a small thermonuclear device but understand there may be a few small legal hurdles... Can you change the order in which the XMC-1 and Comcast box are powered? a few seconds delay on one might help. My Harmony One lets me do that, or that make sequencing power strips.

I had the same issue and found that setting Xfinity X1 as a startup device caused the issue of no video. Try setting another source as a startup device to see if that fix the problem.

Recommendation of which needs to be powered first and how long to delay?

Yes, this is consistent with having to switch inputs back and forth manually after starting. I have a logitech remote, and I can certainly start on a different input, but I don't see how to automatically switch back to the settop box. How have you accomplished this or do you do it manually?

You can add commands on the Activity "Edit Start Sequence" that change inputs before going to Xfinity. You can also add "Delay" if need it. Here is an example of my Activity " Listen to Music on Node 2" where I have the ATV 4K Aerial background on the screen while listening to music on Analog 1 using Bluesound Node 2 as a source. Because Analog 1 has no HDMI input assigned, I use ATV 4K HDMI for video and Analog 1 for audio. But because ATV 4K is the startup device, I had to add a command to switch to Xfinity (input 2) before going back to ATV 4K (input 3) then finally another command to go to input 6 which is Analog 1. The whole start sequence takes 14 secs.

Was the new software released? Not yet. So still waiting to get the XMC -1 to the next level , so at 5.3 FW banding issue , no sound at start up and issues with DSD when the output (ARC out to TV)source is off. Here is a little food for thought If all the 12 volt triggered amps are on and the sound triggered amps are on and active at Time of XMC-1 on command the XMC-1 will have sound but if the center channel amp is on standby at the startup of XMC-1 there is no sound until I toggle the input select button. Please Emotiva I know your busy with the RMC-1 , But I to payed for something that I should be able to use . At least get us to the next level please. Thank you in advance!

There are good reports of version 5.4 which is out in beta right now. It seems to have cured the banding issue and should be available soon. Have you tried calling Emotiva with your issues? They might send you a beta copy to try.

V5.4B2 is working great in my setup. Just updated my projector from Sony HW40ES to Sony VW295ES (4K HDR) and have zero issues with the new projector. Banding is gone for good, audio is totally fine and no video at startup is fixed as well.

I really wish this beta would get released soon. My wife s beyond frustrated by the sync issue and is telling me to just switch it out for something else.

The new 5.4 firmware has been posted in the “ Official XMC-1 Firmware” thread. Not sure why they’ve chosen to post the RMC-1 firmware in the XMC-1 thread, but if you see that post title first, and look no further, you’ll miss this. The new XMC-1 firmware is located HERE
