ARC does work with my LG C7. roadrebel consider contacting Emotiva support and see if they can help. - Rich That's good to hear Rich and I agree that contacting support is the right way to go. Since you have ARC working on your C7, I'm now even more convinced (since I get no CEC functionality whatsoever) that there's a hardware problem with my XMC-1 that goes deeper than the v3 board. I think I'll have to send mine in and let them peek under the hood before the warranty expires...

Wanted to update about my no sound and/or video issue. My XMC-1 has been stable for the last three weeks or so. However, I discovered something new. It’s probably been there all along, but I just noticed it. When I turn on the system, the center channel does not come on. To fix it I have to toggle between Dirac and Preset 1 and 2 and back to Dirac. The center channel comes back on.

It defaults to Stereo...If I change to Preset 1 and then back to DIRAC....bam, CC is back and reports as PLII2x Music on display.

No of the advanced CEC settings need to be selected. That's what I am doing. - Rich

Thanks to both richb and denali for reminding me of the internal "loopback" test found HERE, I now know the reason why I cannot get ARC to work on "my" XMC-1... I ran the test at least a dozen times both connected and disconnected from my system. Neither the "MSP430" (I don't know what that is) or "CEC" ever passed the test. I guess it's time for a trip back to Franklin before the warranty expires...

Emotiva didn't activate this feature ! Still waiting for a fix for audio lock on at start up. Haven't heard anything yet on the 5.4.2 firmware !

sgracing - I think you're onto something. My CEC worked before the V3 board, but doesn't now. I e-mailed Emotiva support, and they gave some suggestions that didn't work (they made no sense to me, but I tried them anyway - power off the TV and the XMC-1, unselect/reselect CEC)

Not sure why but they must know something we don't. Lol I use ARC every day. I stream all formats with my Sony including hi res audio .. Qobuz,Tidal, Spotify ECT .. Through ARC.

All I'm trying to do is have my LG TV remote control the XMC-1 volume. It worked once, but not since the v3 board.

I was also informed that you should wait two minutes after entering the test screen before you perform any of the tests. Doing this allows enough time for the system to fully bootup. KeithL doesn't mention that. If your results mirror mine, your ECC-1 loopback will pass, but the other two will still fail. I assume the failure of the CEC loopback is the root cause of our problems. I have emailed support and included the photo of my test results. I'm still waiting for a response.

I still have not heard from Emotiva yet via the V3 support email but I am sure they will ask to check it. Phil

The post by Keith was before the v3 board was released, maybe the new board isn't compatible with the test?

Once you wait a while the CEC test should pass - and, if not, you probably have a bad CEC chip. At least one of the others will never pass unless you have a special test cable - which you don't have - connected.

Keith - is the CEC chip on the V3 board? Mine had been working until I did the swap.
