Yep... those are gone. So is “Auto” lip sync under Setup > Inputs. Don’t understand the latter unless it is assumed that “zero = Auto”. Huh...I have the auto lip sync option: I'm running the 5.1 beta.

Oh one other thing. Computer video cards are a whole other issue. We are preparing a post to explain what 18 gig is and what is supported within that frame work that I think will help. This doesn't sound good. Right now I have *less* functionality for my PC than I did with the previous HDMI board. I could at least get a 60hz refresh rate, even i I only got 8 bit color. Now i'm stuck at 30 hz, which is unacceptable for gaming.

A little chuckle for your amusement. Whenever I disconnect my XMC-1, I always forget to use the LEFT sub out - I always use the RIGHT sub out because it's just the next open XLR input. And every time I go back and check the manual and have a "Duh!" moment

This is also the best way to hookup consoles if you are really into FPS games.

Why not right to display for gaming? You are only introducing more lag when inserting any hdmi device between display and video card. I'm not playing shooters that require very fast twitch response, so lag isn't a concern. The original HDMI board in the XMC-1 was fast enough that I didn't get any perceivable delay from having it in the chain. In fact, splitting the video and audio is more likely to cause delay (as I'm finding now, since that's what I'm doing with the V3 board). Right now I'm using the dual HDMI outs from my GTX 1080 Ti, but that's causing all sorts of headaches, as Windows doesn't do well with an audio-only HDMI source. If I go to optical out for sound, then I lose lossless codecs (this is also an HTPC).

I do have Lip Sync Auto as well. Running V5.1 Beta. Did I misunderstand the point you were making, or did you just miss it originally? Or was it missing in 5.0, but back in 5.1?

This is very concerning. Why some XMC-1s show Lip Sync Auto and some no? This is definitely something that only Lonnie or Keith can answer.

No “Auto” lip sync for me. Running firmware version 5.1 and using HDMI Output 2 (ARC).

Hi Lonnie, What about the non OSD on non active HDMI inputs issue? Like I explained to you over email, with the old board I had HDMI6 + Analog 1 for my Bluesound Node 2 which has no video out but even without any HDMI signal coming in I was able to see OSD when listening to music with a black screen. That option is now gone. Could it be possible to bring it back with a firmware update? I was back in the lab earlier today and we switched to an input that had nothing connected to it and it was fine. The TV showed no signal as it should and when you select Menu, it popped up and worked fine. So my question is this. If you select an HDMI input that has nothing connected, does the OSD work on yours? Then switch to the analog input that has your Bluesound and tell what happens. Lonnie On my XMC that doesn’t have any HDMI connections the OSD is not present on my LGOLEDC7 when I press volume up or down. On my Audioengine B1 to XMC with HDMI and music playing via Bluetooth there is no OSD with volume changes. I will try the RCA jacks off the Audioengine B1 next to see if there is an OSD.

Tried RCA outputs on B1 and no OSD either. I’m okay with that but I am just helping to troubleshoot.

I'm just seeing that the V5.1 I got over email from Lonnie is a .dms file while the one posted by Keith is a .dat file. I'm reflashing my XMC-1 with the one posted by Keith to compare results.

I just connected my projector to output 2, and even though I didn't turn on my projector, the XMC-1 now no longer has the auto lip sync option. This is really strange behavior. I'm going to have to see if I have the same weird PC issues refresh rate on output 2. Or if audio locks on any faster with output two. It'll be a bit before I'm able to test.

I was questioning that format because my last firmware update 4.1 was a .bin file. I was questioning the .dat but I did it anyway.

After reflashing with V5.1 .dat file, I turned the XMC-1 ON and checked on Menu and Lip Sync Auto was gone. Then turned ON my projector which is in Out 1 and Lip Sync Auto came back up. Everything else is the same. Oppo 203 and ATV 4K. both sending HDR and right audio formats. I will resume testings as soon I get my Emotiva HDBaseT 4K HDMI Extender on Thursday.
