I only have an HTPC for streaming audio/video, an XBOX One X and DirecTV receiver and don't really have any audio drop outs. I've not achieved trouble free operation completely but I have watched 4K movies from my XBOX ONE X and HTPC (generally ripped dvd content) and have not had the timed audio drop outs some have had. The ripped content is Blu-ray only and not 4K and most of the audio I play is just streamed from Spotify via the HTPC. I'd love to get one of those files with the drop outs and try it to see if the same thing happens here.

HDT on HTPC with W10 is tricky but on the XBOX it should work

Considering I see audio negotiation issues with the DVR (although a bit different) I think we can rule out the container. When the issues pop up on the DVR the RMC overlay display shows PCM rather than Dolby Digital. Last night I actually had a new problem... Normally with the DVR when it drops a rewind of the content will bring it back. In this case I stopped the playback and even the live TV was without audio. To fix it I had to switch inputs back and forth. Also since the DVR uses a very short cable I think we can take that out of the mix unless its the RMC to display thats causing issues... Question: Did you run the Setup & modified something?
I had these kind of things only when I did some optimization in the setup and used it, without a boot after using the setup. After a proper boot, an not using the setup menu - no issues with my setup.

What about disconnecting your monitor completely. I have yet to have a single audio dropout with the Apple TV. The only difference with me an others is my RMC only sees audio. Not the most fun testing with nothing to stare at but would be interested in hearing if you have a dropout with no monitor connected. I've considered if it's the video that is causing issues with the RMC. I have not tested for audio dropouts with no display device connected and I don't plan on testing it for a few reasons: - I've spent tens of hours testing for free and I think I'm to my limit with the current state of the FW and equipment. Testing for a 40-50 interval audio issue with no display device connected is not something I'm willing to do in my free time when Emotiva has paid employees that can test.
- In order to ensure the RMC has a fresh connection to all hdmi connected devices and no memory of a connected display device that could cause audio dropouts, I'd want to do a full reset without any display device connected. The startup of my system afterwards, selecting the correct app on the AppleTV, selecting the correct media and getting that media to play without a display isn't an easy task or one I think I should need to do for Emotiva.
- The last big reason, I currently have a fully functional system without any video or audio issues... because the RMC is sitting in a box and I have a Marantz 8805 is in the stack.
Once I feel a firmware may resolve the issues I'm having with the RMC, I might put the RMC back in the stack. Until then I am enjoying using my theater and not worrying about issues. I feel I've given enough of my free time, resources and equipment to Emotiva testing the RMC.

Can you guys post up what level, and distance your nearest speaker is at REFERENCE 75dB using the built in Test Tones on 1.3A? Thank you. Center speaker, +1.5dB, 7'0", 4ohm, @ 75dB. The center speaker is a full bandwidth 4 ohm tower speaker designed to lay on its side. TV is 8'4" from money seat ... so center speaker is in front of TV/Projector Screen ... it's a really large speaker. Distance measured from ear height money seat to center speaker.

Thank you so much for that information. Helps a lot. Any other owners want to chime in? I was looking at some issue with my setup.

Seems to me all that have have audio dropouts have either a htpc, streamer or in any way use non bluray formats.
Is there anyone that have these audio dropouts just using blurays for movies?

I was having issues with my Oppo 203 and a UHD disc with a DTS:X sound format. But I THINK that was resolved with FW 1.3. Static sounds (not audio dropouts) still play in the matrixed speakers with UHD discs and .mkv content streamed with my media player with Dolby and Dolby Atmos soundtracks. That issues was what caused my RMC to get shipped back to Franklin, TN. I've been told it will be addressed in a FW update.

What puzzles me is that some are not having any issues with RMC-1. deewan, maybe a stupid question but have you tried using only the audio from dvd player to the RMC and video direct to the TV? Just asking.

My RMC-1 is setup for video pass-through in standby and has dual mono S10 subwoofers set to AUTO. Over the last couple of weeks I have noticed that after a period of time I lose the right subwoofer. Today, after losing the right subwoofer and while the right subwoofer was not thumping, I swapped the XLR cables at the RMC-1 and the problem moved to the left subwoofer, so the RMC-1 right subwoofer XLR has no output. I used the standby button and turned the RMC-1 OFF for a minute, then turned it back ON and the problem remained. Next, I turned the RMC-1 OFF with the standby button and then unplugged the RMC-1 power cord for a minute before turning it ON, that corrected the problem. A cold restart corrected the problem. I have noticed that I lose the right subwoofer once the RMC-1 volume is at or above -20dB for a period of time. It isn't like the RMC-1 is outputting power, so I don't get it. Hopefully, Emotiva can correct many of our issues with the next firmware drop.

...I was able to duplicate the same bad REW measurements I had without the RMC in the mix, So, It's not the RMC.

Hi, Any update on the V1.4 firmware and the rewrite? It was mentioned in the latest podcast, near the beginning. I think it said 10 days or so as of June 21st, give a listen to confirm.

Either that,.....Or as Lonnie interrupted, and said, " real soon"........whatever that means It sounded like the big improvement was the menu interface. Will be interesting to see if the audio dropouts and buzzing issues are resolved. If not, then I think I’m out. I just didn’t understand Dan’s comments about selling so many units and the SQ given how many problems have been publicly documented on forums about this processor and how difficult it is to sell it on the used market as a result. Grains of salt I guess.
