I sold the D40 that same year(2008) and purchased a D90 which I still own but needs some TLC and I no longer have a working lens for it

I sold the D40 that same year(2008) and purchased a D90 which I still own but needs some TLC and I no longer have a working lens for it Ah, I have a D90 too, still going strong after 12 years. A few months ago I realized I was due for my midlife crisis. Rather than getting a new wife I decided to get a new camera and splurged on a D500 😆. However, the D90 ain't going anywhere, keeping it as a second body to minimize lens changes when doing "serious" stuff. A very good lens for the price that would go well with the D90 is the 18-140mm. Plenty to be found used in good/excellent/like new conditions for little money: www.mpb.com/en-us/used-equipment/used-photo-and-video/used-lenses/used-nikon-fit-lenses/nikon-af-s-18-140mm-f-3-5-5-6g-ed-vr-dx/Thinking to get one myself as an "upgrade" to the 18-105mm I have been using as a midrange zoom for the D90.

You might also want to check out some PRIME (non-zoom) lenses.
Some of them offer exceptionally good value at really good prices...even new.
Especially if you're more interested in being able to shoot at lower F-stops... without a flash... and don't need a lot of reach. They're also a lot smaller and lighter compared to zoom lenses.
Something like this is really nice for interior shots (with a D90): I sold the D40 that same year(2008) and purchased a D90 which I still own but needs some TLC and I no longer have a working lens for it Ah, I have a D90 too, still going strong after 12 years. Indeed! One of my lenses is the 50mm, f/1.8 prime and it works exceptionally well for a sub-$200 lens.

There’s lots of wildlife around here, they do keep the place tidy … hadn’t thought about being on the menu. 🤔😮😬
