After a 12 week wait the Enzo 2.7's have arrived. I am running them from a TA-100 in my workout room until I get them "broke in". then I will move them to my main system. In a few words: Transparent. Detailed. Visceral.
Image. Live. Very nice speakers as well as your listening room. Wonder which tweeters Tekton uses in the Enzos? Scanspeak?

In case anyone is interested in TD's choice of woofers in the Tekton 4-10, here's a picture. The Peerless SLS 830668 10" Woofer - Coated Paper Cone can be found at Madison Sound: www.madisoundspeakerstore.com/approx-10-woofers/peerless-sls-830668-10-woofer-coated-paper-cone/I also did a review here of the 4-10s if you missed it: www.disqus.social/2020/02/review-tekton-design-4-10-subwoofer.htmlIn case you're curious as to why I pulled a sub ... because my cat jumped up on a 4-10 and when I swatted him away on the way off his nail went into a woofer while launching off doing a superman impression, so now I'm looking for a replacement. Anyhoot, I love the 4-10s and have tried to squeeze maximum bass out of them. The whole speaker works together in such a way that they're hard to improve on. For a bit I even tried making them passive and bypassing the stock Yung amp only to come back to it. Eric obviously did his homework in design. I mean 300 bucks in woofers as well as cabinetry, amp and shipping for 850 bucks. If I replaced 4 woofers w/ supposed higher quality speakers..... why not instead add another 4-10? Here's a little write up I did when bypassing the stock Yung Class D to provide Parasound amplification: www.disqus.social/2021/02/bypassing-tekton-designs-4-10-amps-for.html

Smoked my Ulfs to match the kitchen cabinetry in the open floor plan. The added dark streaks and smoky finish to the speakers makes it not so shocking w/ the grills off. Also added 12" sub guards. How did you apply the finish? What process steps? Thanks.

How did you apply the finish? What process steps? Thanks. Speaker cabinet wise just used a rag and dipped the tip into the can of Gel Stain. Using my finger through the rag I pulled down vertical strokes on the speaker cabinet surfaces. Then used the rag to wipe up and down w/ the same vertical strokes to blur the streaks. Kept repeating until I was happy w/ the finish. The whole refinish took less than 30 minutes including clean up. Here's the Gel Stain I used in case anyone is interested: www.amazon.com/General-Finishes-BLH-Stain-Black/dp/B00QU4DDPO/

The smoked effects tames down the contrast between the light gray base color and black speakers to the point I actually for the first like no grills. I may just end up filling the grill mounting holes in the cabinetry.

Iโm sure much cost went into that but the bonus was that I really love the sound of the speakers. Iโm sure your sound great and now with your talent they blend extremely well into the space.

Just extracted the female pegs from the grill mounting holes in the cabinets and filled them w/ wood filler. Tomorrow I'll sand the spots and paint.

Looks awesome....you got skills and Schiit. Working from home the past year, I've mostly watched Guys Grocery Games & Chopped.....maybe I should have watched more home improvement shows instead of food shows ( my doctor would agree ). Nice work Deleted!!

The Enzo 2.7's in their final location. This is a "family room", so not the greatest flexibility in placement. So far I have about 50 hours on them and they are getting richer in sound as time goes on. As proclaimed by Tekton, the midrange is super clear and precise, but not sharp like a horn. The base is getting more pronounced over time and just the very low end needs some subwoofer support. Overall, I am very pleased with these speakers. Great sound in a "mid sized" floor standing speaker.

Nice work Deleted!! Thanks, Just sanded down the filled grill holes. Basic wood working ya know what we learned in schools when children - from middle school wood shop. About to put a coat over the sanded holes w/ the same color Tekton uses in the light gray option. Soon as the paint drys I'll apply the Gel stain and be done!
