I am also waiting for new XMC-1 firmware due to a handshake issue with ARC and newer Samsung TVs, that Emotiva is aware of. I was told over the phone that it would be out in about two weeks. That was four weeks ago.

Im so sick of no audio when changing the channel watching tv or recorded video. The only fix is switching between stations or FF or RW and then play. No guarantee there will be a lock on audio. 🙏🤞

This is great information. I very rarely play an SACD. The ability to turn it (DSD) off to enjoy faster switching will be outstanding. The wait is not a huge deal for me as an audiophile...it is the wife and kids that get mad when it is slow, locks up, and doesn't have sound at all for a given input without going back to switch inputs again...(PLEASE WAIT)...then back to the original desired input. Sometimes it locks up and the BIG SWITCH on the back has to be utilized.
Big Dan...how about an honest update with a real timeline on DIRAC. And the expansion modules. I have 3 big subs for my theater and would like a sub expansion module ASAP.

I have been the proud owner of the original XMC-1. I have installed the V3 video board and latest firmware. Outside of the slow switching issues I think the worst problem is that about 50 percent of the time it has no sound after switching to an input. This results manual switching the inputs over and over to get sound to resume on the desired input. This issue is why I am currently waiting to upgrade to the XMC-2. Unfortunately this is a first come first serve basis to which I have missed the first 2 sessions of available units. I don't see why loyal customers should have to be put through this process. Obviously the new firmware for the old XMC-1 with the new V3 video board is a band-aid solution until XMC-1 until owners get their XMC-2. This is very frustrating and this firmware issue is unacceptable. I am pleading with Keith and Dan to please make XMC-2 upgrade more available to loyal customers like myself. The XMC-1 firmware issue has been a problem since the V3 board upgrade and I am tired of it. I did not have this audio dropout issue with my XMC-1 with V3 board prior to trading it in. Strange. I do have this audio drop out issue with my new XMC-2. Doesn't happen all the time. Emotiva is aware of it and I'm hoping for a firmware update. My solution that tends to work it to switch the audio input on the remote from Preset 1 to 2 and back. Switching channels may or may not work, but the audio preset tends to work all the time. So, upgrading to the XMC-2 may not solve this audio issue for you until Emotiva provides a firmware fix. No news on available XMC-2 units yet. If what you say is true about the XMC-2 is true, I will still have a firmware problem, starting to think this goes beyond firmware...

They are working the issue. Another thread mentions new firmware coming soon, hopefully.

Sorry for being late coming to this thread. Dan and Nick both mentioned the 1.8 firmware. Is this coming to the XMC-1? I'm assuming it would be numbered differently for the XMC-1.

I now have now upgraded to the XMC-2. One major fix that I have had forever, my PS4 PR0 could never operate in HDCP. With the XMC-2 this is not even an issue so far. XMC-2 still has the occasional audio drop out issue until I cycle input sources manually. Overall the XMC-2 seems to be an improvement so far and upscales audo sources to 7.1 correctly.
New update Xmc-2 and PS4 Pro now has lost HDCP with firmware 1.9. This just doesn't make sense, why must functionality be lost with every release.

For 2 days and the firmware update 5.15 for the XMC1v3, I found that my center speaker had lost in naturalness and depth at the level of the timbre of voices with a highlight of a shrill and slightly unpleasant sound.
It was the same with my listening to CDs in full analog (stereo reference) I just reinstalled the 5.14 firmware and everything is impeccable I found the sound of my central
Have you noticed this problem?

Didn't notice that after I installed 5.15. I would try re-running Dirac Live; sounds like the phasing may be off. But, doesn't "stereo reference" disable the center channel?

I installed 5.15 the day it came out ( I had no issues with 5.14 but figured hey why not ) but didn't get a chance to listen till a few days later. This is when I noticed my subs were not working. I went into the setup menu and played around with my preset settings and this is what I found. With speakers set to small I had no subs, with set to large I only could get them to work if bass enhancement was checked. With this set my right sub only worked intermittently. I also noticed that when they did work the lvl seemed about half of what it was before 5.15. I then tried a factory reset to start from scratch with settings, same issue. At this point I reinstalled 5.14, still borked but with a new twist. Set in preset 1 speakers to small ( still no subs) and lowered the factory default x-over from 100hrtz to 40. Sound lost most all bass. Then jacked it to 200 and the bass on my mains came back. Back n forth and yep, its working backwards 40 acting as 200 and 200 as 40. At this point I was thinking I may have to send unit back to Emo for a re-flash. Then I tried one more factory reset, turned the unit off with back switch for 15 mins, then back on for reboot. Came back on with 5.14 at factory settings and every thing now worked as it should. Spent Sunday afternoon resetting up and listening to tunes Moral of this story is " If it ain't broke don't fix it ", I'll be sticking with 5.14 unless I need to change it, and Emo figures out what's up with 5.15

My reason for updating to 5.15 was to get ARC working with my Samsung 82 inch tv. I haven't bothered trying ARC yet, since the optical works just fine for sound. I haven't noticed any issues with 5.15 in my limited listening on direct stereo (both subs work fine) and auto surround modes.

Are there any more firmware updates coming to the xmc-1? Mine still can't switch inputs without cycling through a few of them to get the hdmi to lock on properly. The wife is not happy with this setup.

I haven't contacted customer service. I was just wondering if anyone knew about any possible future updates.
