There are plenty of things worth getting angry about, but to me, this isn't one of them. It'll work itself out - or it won't. Either way, it's out of my hands. To me, Coronavirus is the same. It could be deadly, but I can only do what I can do so there's not much reason to fret about the aspects that I can't control. My better half, a worrier by nature, can't let it go. But in the long run, I think that mine is the healthier attitude. Sometimes impartiality is a blessing, and I've made my peace with both of these issues. That's a great attitude, but be persistent and don't let them off the hook. This was not your fault. You should not be the one taking a loss.

LOL - ANYONE who knows me is aware that I'm the annoyingly most persistent person in the universe. I plan to let the Oppo service company handle FedEx. Should they try to cheat me, it's interstate commerce, and thus a Federal offense. My daughter is a Harvard Law School graduate, and available if I need her.

AND, as predicted, I got notification today that FedEx claims that their delivery was made. In their version, the case is closed. Now it's up to ME to prove that they DIDN'T deliver the package. Sigh...

Sigh... Make a nice little write up for your publication. Things to beware of when shipping audio equipment etc [whether new, used, in purchase or repair]. Send a copy to Fed Ex of the article to go public in a publication and tell them as well to expect legal action. I'd end that with opening the door to yet another investigation, an appeal, and asking to speak to the next person up the ladder! Sharing your experience has altered my perception making me not only aware but less likely to go with FedEx, Boom. Such an article, I think, might serve your community well. Enjoy, William P.S. I still don't see how the "shipper" is off the hook yet either. Aren't they accountable and responsible for proving you've received it? The signature they have by FedEx proves otherwise?

Right now I have an issue with FEDEX as well. They delivered a package to my business address and somebody with a random name signed the package. My business was closed at the time of the delivery so who knows have the package right now. Called FEDEX and they said that the package was delivered and signed for, so they did their part. Filling a claim as we speak

Sigh... Per a prior post, we've now had this twice in the past year. The only way we won was catching one of the parties in double-speak. In our case, we were disputing a credit card charge because we'd been charged and told the item had been delivered but it was not. We were able to e-mail the supplier (who claimed item was delivered) and get them to respond. They did - multiple times - and gave multiple different conflicting stories. Ultimately, our CC sided with us on 1 of the 2 because our story was consistent and the supplier's was not. We would have won on the 2nd, but my wife failed to respond in time to a challenge by the other side - and the CC company said the law is that if we don't respond/re-dispute we lose and can't reopen the dispute. The issue is proving a negative - like "prove to me Bigfoot does NOT exist". Kind of hard to do. As consumers, we'd be better off if the item arrived but was crushed into bits and that was provable. The latest from OPPO regarding my lost UDP-205:
Hi Glenn,
Since it's been almost two weeks since FedEx processed the claim and we have yet to receive the check, we reached out to FedEx for an update. They were able to provide a check number but they were also able to see the check has not been cleared, meaning the check has not been deposited. They will get back in contact with us with more information and if needed, will re-issue a new check. We apologize for the delay, even though the claim has been processed, we will not be able to process a payment to you without the check from them first.
Best Regards,

Now the digital check has been lost, jeez what a sh** show, sorry to hear of the issues and delays there Glen
I prefer FedEx over UPS here, anything coming over the border has a customs fee for a guy signing off on the item crossing, FedEx has always charged me a flat rate of $10 yet UPS charges a percentage ?? like what does the amount have to do with the guy clearing the item, my PT-100 I just ordered last month that had a value of $300 I got charged a $70 fee for the clearance of the package, so they are basically outright stealing from me is how I look at it, considering they charged me 7 times the amount FedEx would and when I call them about they say that's just what we charge, like wow so that just pretty much makes my decision on what company I'm gonna go with when I ship something haha.

Mark It's not hard at all. Claiming that it is impossible to prove a negative (common enduring illogical claim) is pseudologic (false logic), because there are many proofs that substantiate negative claims in mathematics, science, economics and other subjects. Sorry to get off the subject here for one post, but I can't resist, it's Mark's fault. I grew up near the Olympic Mountains and National Park west of Seattle on the Olympic Peninsula. This is one of the supposed areas of the original sightings of Bigfoot/Sasquatch. I have over 55 years until recently spent many hundreds of days hiking, backpacking and camping in the Olympics. For many years now to hike in the Olympics one has to have a permit, it gets so crowded. My very simple and logical proof is that no Bigfoot feces or clear Bigfoot photos have ever been found. There are a few scattered claims of found feces but none of them withstand any legitimate scientific scrutiny. With all the folks over many years in this mountain and river area with high quality cameras, we should have had innumerable photos and fecal samples. We have neither as in none! I have seen as every nut who has ever spent a week or more in the back country on the Olympic Peninsula, many black bear, deer, elk, mountain goats, cougars as well as numerous other forest/mountain animals but never Sasquatch, none as in zero. Of course there are numerous nuts and clubs devoted to Bigfoot (lots of fun, beer drinking, books for sale, money to be made and belly laughs). If any one would like to contest my comments, please PM me and I'll start a Bigfoot thread, so all the Bigfoot Nuts can come out of the woodwork. Chuckie Nut 1967 phony video of man in gorilla costume is the best we have? Swinging his arms just like a human. Now back to FedEx

Much easier for you though as there is much much more opportunity of stuff to purchase used or new in the USA compared to Canada. Chad

Latest from Oppo:
After two days of calling FedEx and speaking to different departments at FedEx to have the check voided and a new check issued, we were finally able to speak to the correct person. They will put in a request to have the original check voided and once they have confirmed the check has been void, they will re-issue a new check. It typically takes seven business days for a check to be voided and confirmed and a further 5-7 days for a new check to be issued. We apologize for the delays.

Hi Glenn,
Since it's been almost two weeks since we last spoke with FedEx, we gave them a call to check on the status. They were able to void the check on 7/22 and is in the process of issuing a new check. The new check should be mailed out early next week.
