Latest from Oppo: Hi Glenn, Since it's been almost two weeks since we last spoke with FedEx, we gave them a call to check on the status. They were able to void the check on 7/22 and is in the process of issuing a new check. The new check should be mailed out early next week. Best Regards, Customer Service OT Service, Inc. 162 Constitution Dr. Menlo Park, CA 94025 Service@oppodigital.com No way they are telling the truth. This is absurd.

No way they are telling the truth. This is absurd. Maybe... But FedEx is famously reluctant to provide a refund to anyone for any reason. Since I've no other choice at this point, I think I'll just need to be patient & see how this turns out.

Latest from Oppo:
We've received a letter today from FedEx and is awaiting our accountant to confirm it is the correct check. In the meantime can you confirm your mailing address and if we should make the check out to who?

In the meantime can you confirm your mailing address and if we should make the check out to who? Back in a former job, my boss told me the trick to succeeding in business was to outfumble the other guy. When they want something, just keep fumbling around until they finally give up. I don't know what made me think of that after all these years...

I sent the following to Oppo:
"Just so there's no further confusion -
Send my refund check with signature required The address is: ... Let me know when the check is sent In fact, since the Post Office is currently being defunded, send the check via UPS ground."

Latest from Oppo:
The last update we had from our Accountant is the check was sent for signature and once it's signed, will be be sent out from that office and will not come back to our office. We do not have a shipping account with UPS, so if you would like it to be sent via UPS, you will need to provide us with a shipping label. Let us know.

Latest from Oppo:
Hi Glenn,
Since the handling of the check will be handled by another office, the check will not have a return address for OPPO Digital or OT Service. Attached is a copy of the shipping label in PDF format.

The check was mailed to me by Oppo on Tuesday, August 11th via 2-day Priority Mail and it's now Monday, August 18th.
Now the Post Office's tracking app tells me: "Your package will arrive later than expected, but is still on its way. It is currently in transit to the next facility." And that's the last that it's been heard of since leaving San Francisco.
So to summarize, Fed Ex lost my Oppo on June 8th. It's now August 18th, and between Oppo and the Post Office, I may have to restart the whole "lost my delivery" stuff all over again, but this time with the crippled Post Office instead of FedEx...
Conclusions:
Now is NOT a good time to be using the Post Office for anything (I could get political here, but I absolutely won't). Anytime ANY delivery service loses your package, plan on months before you get any reimbursement. Sometimes you just have to be patient...
My biggest fear is that the Priority Mail shipment disappears completely. My second-biggest fear is that the Post Office eventually delivers the check from Oppo, but that the check is no longer valid because of the time interval.

Now the Post Office's tracking app tells me: "Your package will arrive later than expected, but is still on its way. It is currently in transit to the next facility." And that's the last that it's been heard of since leaving San Francisco. I had this same issue and message back when I was repairing my tractor a couple months ago. One of the parts' shipment originated in southern Florida and for some reason made multiple stops in Florida along the way. It then got to a certain point and seemed to just stop for several days. I was about to call about it, and suddenly it popped free to the next town in Florida, boarded a plane, and flew to Cincinnati and was delivered the next day. I don't know what the hold-up was, but once it moved - it moved fast. I hope yours gets to you soon. Mark
