USPS..."It is what it is". Front line workers doing what they can with what they've got. They take far too much abuse! I applaud them all.👏👏👏👏👏 Glad that you're adventure concluded positively, Boom.

Ok Boom, now you've done it. How does the Yamaha compare to the OPPO.

Comparing the Yamaha BD-A1060 and the OPPO UDP-205 is like comparing apples to oranges.
The Oppo has true 4K capability - the Yammy is a Blu-Ray player with some upscaling to 4K. The Oppo has Ethernet audio streaming via UP&P / DLNA - the Yammy has none. The Oppo has multiple digital inputs and can be used as a standalone DAC - the Yammy has none.
But on the positive side:
Both players have balanced XLR analog (stereo) audio outputs. Both players allow MKV video file playback from USB sticks. Both players sound good for music (nod to the Yammy on sound quality). Both players have variable bass management. The Yammy costs ⅓ the price of the Oppo (when the Oppo was available). The Yammy has a better warranty that is still offered directly from the manufacturer.
There are other differences, but the ones above are those that matter most to me.
